Assuming you have any privacy on the internet is folly and foolish. Assuming it can be obtained on the internet is a double mistake.

Then you compound your mistake a third time and want some sort of verification, but the data can be falsified to the moon and back.

Fourth mistake is posting it here while the forum is still public, to give time to the dirtbags to make accounts before any closures and "checks".

QuadraMistake.

If the forum becomes private and a proof of an EAD becomes the new verification of users here then many Dreamers who aged out like IAmAMan, DA user, and the ones that came late like Neoair and Future Accountant would be left out.

And you suspect no one will leak? or there are no posters here watching us?

Who's going to vet newcomers? Why should we trust these people vetting? Scan an EAD next to the applicants' face?

Also, this forum isn't even over HTTPS. You expect your college network isn't logging the entire body? We are always being watched. This forum has three kinds of people: dreamers who are very understanding and full of love and dreamers who just want to troll and chill here with mean comments. The third kind is invisible. Making the forum private isn't going to make everyone safer and more comfortable to be honest.

Even if we were to make the forum private, we wouldn't ask people to scan their EAD.

So what's the point to make this private? Anyone can register. So this proposal doesn't make the point "more comfortable." If someone were to lurk around get info about us, they will register.

I think everyone know from the get-go that making the forum private isn't going to cease people from registering. We don't have to make the entire forum private. We can keep say, "the lounge" and "other topic" sections visible to guests and make the "news" and "taking action" sections private.

To reiterate, the point is not to vet people who is going to and/or have registered, but rather adding an extra layer of protection for information that we are giving away here to the public eyes'.

Extra protection how?

He thinks that public forums can be protected by making it slightly harder for people to view them, while also not making it hard for the users to see the content.

Insane.
