But then again

It was trump who cause this shutdown and as a result we might get something out of it. Or at least keep what we already have and maybe have AP back

This is probably off topic, but I think it would have been better if Hillary would have won. Merrick Garland would be on the Supreme Court, giving us a 5-4 lead with SCOTUS decision (I mean even DAPA got shot down with only a 5-4 margin).

Permanent DACA for life with AP sounds good to me at this point. At least there would be no uncertainty.

All they had to have done was not put such a horrible candidate like Hillary up against Trump. Let's hope Democrats don't mess it up this time again. Harris, Warren, and even Sanders rub me the wrong way sometimes. Definitely Beto and/or Biden would be awesome both of whom I would gladly donate to.

As for now, let's hope that a 'bill of love' emerges for Valentines Day.

For those of you saying Dems won't give them wall funding if DACA is not included....read the damn article.

Hoyer sidestepped questions about whether he would support funding for new fencing as part of the border security package, instead deferring to the conference committee.

But House Democratic Conference Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) signaled that the caucus could be open to the idea, but with caveats.

“We are willing to support fencing where it makes sense, but it should be done in an evidence-based fashion,” Jeffries said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Democrats don’t take blame for the shutdown

Democrats are giving him 5 billion for border security, electronic surveillance, additional CBP personals and immigration judges, repairing/improving existing fence and they will declare victory that they denied Trump a wall. Trump will declare victory by saying he got a virtual/electronic wall. we'll get nothing. it's a famous saying When elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. we need a 3rd centrist party to save the nation. fuck both GOP and Democrats.

They're already caving to give him money to build new fencing "where it's necessary". Trump will say he got his funding. Dems will say they included money to strengthen ports of entry and technology. Dreamers will get left out.

They'll give him something miniscule such as fencing on a couple hundred miles of the border, but there won't be any 30-ft high steel slats being built.

Democrats are also aware that they must offer something so that they can go through the election season saying they did support strong border security.

Again, though, Trump wouldn't be able to claim victory. He'd have to resort to declaring a national emergency.

Democrats could cave, but they have the upper hand in this situation so it seems unlikely.

McConnell on if conf cmte should wander into debt ceiling, immigration reform or DACA or just stick to border security $:
Whatever works...I’m for narrow. I’m for broader. I’m for whatever works and doesn’t bring along..To predict going in exactly what that is..is impossible

What Could Go Wrong? Lindsey Graham proposes to attach a border/DACA deal to the DEBT LIMIT after having dinner with Trump (via @StevenTDennis).

In order for DACA to be included it would have to be permanent. Why pass the Bridge Act if SCOTUS has yet to even take the case? We know the chances of pathway to citizenship for DACA being included are.
