Re: *****RFE Thread <- (Request for Evidence)****
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting and forgive me if this question has been answered already, but when i tried to search the thread I kept getting an error message. Anyway.. my husband applied for I-821D and has a RFE. First here's the info:
Username: lipsoffury EWI: Yes Application Delivered: 08/01/2012 I-1145 Received: 08/20/2012 Service Center: Nebraska Biometric Done: Original Evidence: Copies of: Plane ticket stating entry date (10/6/98 ) HS Diploma HS Report Cards Tax Returns Bank Statements Passport Utility Bills RFE Notice Date: 01/08/2013 RFE Reason: Unfortunately due to a typo the date of entry on one of the forms states 10/8/2008 instead of 10/8/1998. They are requesting the following: Proof of high school graduation ( They are requesting the original high school diploma ) and Proof of entry prior to 16th birthday (We received OFFICIAL High school transcripts to send) RFE Response: We have the original diploma, the plane ticket and the official high school transcripts ready to send but we need your help RFE Sent Date: Still have to send it out.. RFE Delivered: Still have to send it out... Follow-up/Comment: Ok so my question is, how do I send out my husband's diploma? It's made of stiff paper and we really don't want to damage it by folding it to fit in the small envelope provided. However, the paper explicitly states that we need to send our documents using the small envelope. Should we place the items in a box and have the envelope taped on top? We did try calling USCIS but they didn't offer much help. One rep we spoke to said yes, while the other left us with an ambiguous answer. Has anyone sent their high school diploma with any luck? Thank you all for your help! Approval: TBA |
Re: *****RFE Thread <- (Request for Evidence)****
I find it weird that they are requesting the original diploma. To answer your question, you can use another envelope, just make sure you include the green paper that they sent to you in the RFE letter.

My RFE was a plain envelope, white sheet requesting some evidence and no envelope to send it back. I sent my evidence on a plain white envelope.

Could you make a copy and have a notarized letter attached to the diploma? I think is odd they are requesting an original copy. So, I'm guessing you don't have an attorney? |

Re: *****RFE Thread <- (Request for Evidence)****
You are fine sending it using another envelope. Most people haven't used the envelope. But include the envelope in the other envelope you are going to use. Just make sure you make copies of everything. If you go to some of the first pages of this thread there are discussions on the envelope or search the thread.

Re: *****RFE Thread <- (Request for Evidence)****
Ref- here is some tips.
Do not send uscis documents they don't need. Do not send them documents that you already send them. Make sure your don't send unnecessary documents that they did't ask you for. Read your rfe carefully and send only what they ask you for. Everyone worrying to much about proving continues residency and send to out to much paper work it's a good thing but can delay your case it's just more work and headache for uscis. Just cut straight to the point. If you have kids send them a copy of your child birth certificate this a lone can are will prove 2 to 3 years of continues residency. Dentist are hospital records can prove years depending on what you send them. This is a big question: Do i of to prove each and every month? No you don't but if you can go a head. Prove before age 16-make sure you prove that it's very important and anything you use to prove this must be notarize. School record, medical record ex; high school diploma is just to prove you have a certificate of completion and you can send other certificate even if you just attend a technical school. I'm just someone with the experience passing it on to someone who could use the help. Just remember to keep it simple and straight to the point. Don't send anything they did not ask for. |
Re: *****RFE Thread <- (Request for Evidence)****
^Stuff doesn't have to be notarized. Not all people have or can afford to have each paper notarized. it just has to be legible and clear. Most importantly in English.

edit: okay there's hope.. since i dont have anything else for july 2011 to june 2012, im going to send in 2 affidavits for this RFE, i read some ppl have used only affidavits to cover a year and gotten approved

Re: *****RFE Thread <- (Request for Evidence)****
I would try to find something first. At least one or two pieces of information. Just because you have heard something doesn't mean you know the whole story. Maybe the rest of their information filled in the gap for that year.
