Skinny-DACA aka Skinny-Repeal!

FAKE DEADLINE: Due to court ruling that blocked the rescission of DACA, the March 5 deadline is not really a deadline. DACA remains in effect for now unless Supreme Court was to quickly throw out the district court ruling before March, which is unlikely.

@shermancourt
DACA case formally added to Supreme Court's 2/16 private conference. #SCOTUS

@GregStohr
Greg Stohr Retweeted Mark Sherman
Court in theory could say that day that it’s taking up the case. A denial could happen on the 2/20 orders list.

Wow that was quick. I remember some saying it would take at least 6 months.

I think the Feb 16th conference is just to see if SCOTUS will take up the case. So they denial they are talking about is if the take the case. I could be wrong, so if anyone else knows, please chime in.

the people you just retweeted and other SCOTUS reporters said that the March 5th deadline isnt really real anymore. there is no DACA deadline.

so idk who to believe, but i think 2/16 is to take it up and look into it and by 2/20 they make a decision on either to take and expedite it or deny it and have it go till Summer/Fall.

Yes, people can renew, but renewals takes times. So those who expire March 6th probablly aren't going to get their new EAD in time. That means thousands of DREAMers will be without protection for at least some portion of time. And then there's the possiblity renewals will be stopped by the court. So it's an excuse for inaction by Congress by saying there is no deadline anymore.

im trying to contact the SCOTUS reporters.

i believe the 2/20 is not a ruling to strike down the 9th circuit injunction but a decision if they will take the case and expedite it. but based on their tweets, they say it will be denied and it will go on till Summer/Fall.
