Like I have always said, I do not expect legislation to pass right after DACA is cancelled. Last time some were able to renew one last time and other were left out. Once legislation passes the "new program" will not be implemented immediately, so everyone should be ready to deal with at least 6 months of unemployment give or take. |

Also, remember the images the news showed every day of people crying about not being able to study and work. Same thing will happen, and something will pass." Kind of like when they showed US citizens at soup lines and the government shutdown was resolved immediately? Get it out of your head that pictures are gonna change anything. Americans don't care. As long as the economy is going well, it's background noise. |
Re: Supreme Court to take DACA next fall.
What’s wrong with you guys? Good news? It seems that all of you have forgotten that Brett Kavanaugh was given a life long term as a judge in the Supreme Court. We cannot survive another Trump term and that is a fact. Pelosi just passed the dream act not long ago just for political points, if by some miracle it could pass the senate, are you naive enough to think Trump would strike his pen on that piece of paper?. Do you really think they care about our “hardship” they have kids locked up in cages without basic human needs, some pets have it better than them. May the odds be in our favor.

Of course, after the courts came in it solidified the position that democrats won't work with republicans but they tried to, at least twice. People crying because they lost their jobs? What about parents crying because their kids are taken from them? Nothing so far has been done about that, why would you assume people would do something about losing a job? Morally speaking, a lot more issues has to be addressed before the worst thing you see on TV is dreamers losing jobs or not being able to study because a lot has happened then. |
Re: Supreme Court to take DACA next fall.
Suddenly losing hundreds of thousands of jobs would harm the economy. I hope something gets done since it wouldn't just benefit me, It seems like the perfect storm is being set up and the outcomes are either really rewarding or devastatingly tragic.

Re: Supreme Court to take DACA next fall.
People blaming the courts for stopping trump from ending daca are plain ignorant. 700k losing their jobs won’t imoact actual voting citizens. Trumps tariffs will have more of a negative impact to this economy than a bunch of man children losing daca.
USC were fine before daca and they will be fine after it’s gone so get this if daca goes away, Congress will act mentally out of here The courts are why so many (2Face including) were able to renew again. |
Re: Supreme Court to take DACA next fall.
I should also mention that there's 3 people standing in the way of a policy that has 80% public support.
McConnell, Miller, and ultimately Trump. All three are up for re-election in 2020 so they'll have their own self interest (I know Miller isn't elected but if Trump is gone so is he). They care about getting re-elected the most. Are they going to take the route of removing the DACA issue so dems can't campaign on it or are they going to take the hard line stance to get votes? Feels like the latter will happen. Whatever they do, it's them trying to get re-elected. |
