We in fact do not allow anyone who is not a patient (and ONE visitor/family member, etc) on premises. If you are immunocompromised, you are not to bring anyone else. We all get a health screen upon arrival and must attest in writing we are symptom-free. No food delivery, volunteers, vendors, etc, allowed inside. You must meet them outside hospital.

C19 is 2.8x more infectious than regular flu. Our city's surge is expected mid-April with nearly 1000 admissions. Let that sink. If we successfully flatten the curve (for now), we can see a reduction in that estimate to about 750.

I don't think Americans are flattening anything, we've got 15 days until all ICU beds run out and mortality spikes.


Couple that with them just ignoring stay at home orders. Should've had Medicare for all.

This epidemic is the result of criminal negligence - CDC, NIH, DHS, and every person with integrity and an iota of responsibility in this country knows it.

The country has lost 54 doctors as of yesterday. People are extremely worried about their health and financial well-being. Those are connected and the country realizes that we cannot have one without the other. People lose their jobs and lose their health coverage which should not have anything to do with employment to begin with.
Medicare for all is the answer.

We have healthcare for all in mexico, but that didn't stop the government from making asses of themselves and burning all the advantages of time we had uselessly and pointlessly.

No preparations.
No stay at homes.

My facility does not allow any visitors, if somebody passes away they do so by themselves, all alone.

Same. It's heartbreaking.
If a patient is receiving end of life care, no one outside the patient's health care team is allowed to come into near contact with them. Doctors not in ICU or ER shift are tasked with leading end of life discussions with family, providing comfort and food.

I think I am done with this thread. It's very upsetting. Italian doctors have died taking care of patients with their bare hands.
