Agree, DACA is ending in only 5 months. I will take what I can.

Senator Durbin’s statement on SUCCEED Act:

"Unfortunately the Tillis-Lankford bill falls short. First, it requires Dreamers to sign an order waiving their legal rights in advance, which could allow them to be quickly deported without a day in court, based on little more than allegation from the Trump administration that they fail to meet the bill's strict requirements. In contrast to the bipartisan Dream Act, their bill excludes tens of thousands of Dreamers who came to the United States as children, have lived here for decades, and have clean criminal records, based solely on arbitrary date cutoffs."

Now that I think about it does this give Republicans a reason on not voting on the DREAM ACT? What if this was all a scheme to not get anything passed?

Good. They need to get behind the Dream Act and offer amendments if they want to change something. If a majority agrees, the amendment will get added to the bill. Otherwise it’s a waste of time bringing up a bill like this roght now.

Is her referring to arrival age cut-off being 16 in Succeed VS 18 in Dream?

DREAM ACT is the way man...

Durbin is right,

fuuuuuck.. all the shit you accomplished during the 5 years with DACA aint shit then. i am disappointed.

Everything you have accomplished in the last 5 years should show in your bank account. I was making $7/hr and the employer (who knew the status issue) was taking out taxes - mind you he had never asked for ITIN or a SSN so he was taking out taxes and not filing them! I went from that to $36/hour!

I pay more in taxes now than my annual income back then!

Is this confirmed? Wouldn't be so bad then, kinda like a normal GC process no?

thats what Demise said,

once we apply for DA, and since some people have completed 2 yr degrees or served in the military, they can apply for AOS to PR and not wait the 5 yrs of conditional PR.

Succeed Act is not good, it only includes only people that has DACA, it does not include people who have been here since toddler and over 31 years of age.

(a) VISA
WAIVER PROGRAM WAIVER OF RIGHTS
Section 217(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8
U.S.C. 1187(b)) is amended to read as follows:
‘‘(b) WAIVER OF R IGHTS
.—An alien may not be pro-
10 vided a waiver under the program unless the alien—
‘‘(1) has signed, under penalty of perjury, an
acknowledgment confirming that the alien has been
notified and understands that he or she will be ineli-
gible for any right to relief under sections 240B,
245, 248, and 249 (other than relief from removal
under section 241(b)(3)) and any relief not in effect
at the time such acknowledgment is signed, if the
alien fails to depart from the United States at the
end of the 90-day period for admission;
‘‘(2) has waived any right to review or appeal
under this Act of an immigration officer’s deter-
mination regarding the admissibility of the alien at
a port of entry into the United States; and
‘‘(3) has waived any right to contest, other than
on the basis of an application for asylum, any action
for removal of the alien.’’.

we lose our right for due process, if the administration finds any reason to deport us, we are gone. We cant fight it, imagine being deported for having 2 traffic tickets

for the attack on titan fans out there :P

basically eldians can become 2nd class citizens if they become soldiers for the great marlyan empire that keeps them in a state of poverty and imprisonment.

which is what the succeed bill proposes, we dont get the same rights of a full citizen but we can become 2nd class if we enlist, among other paths but that stood out to me.

we can be honorary americans.

actually wrong, DACA will automatically get the CPR status but must still maintain it for the allotted time , some version say 6 years , some say 8 years. Even if you have completed military time and school, you must still maintain good moral character for those years. Green card must be maintained for 5 years as well. So were looking at 11 - 13 years before citizenship with the dream act.
