Re: Official I-601A Thread

Recently went through this process and wanted to share somethings that you guys might find helpful.
Issued 221g
needed to submit
Tax returns and tax scripts( submitted tax return but was asked for tax scripts)
Picture between applicant and benefactor (not for the 601a) to establish history
call history (downloaded all of it from t mobile and formatted in excel spreadsheet) only did it for year and half
Passport physical copy if you came to us from flight and any old passport you will need to submit all of it...
Hope this helps you guys ... it is better to submit everything from the onset than to get 221g and wait for long time... so don't be lazy lol

I don't remember the correct timeline so this is guesstimate (India)

But the whole application process took around 10 months(601a)... After 221g was issued it was another 5 months in the country ...

Contacted senator twice don't know if that helped the case after 3 months and 5 months(TX)...

If you are going to take pictures you should draw a circle on the picture and identify the person through photoshop as applicant(john doe) and Petetioner (john doe) ...

I think the worst scenario when doing 601 is general is getting public charge or getting denied because you have other reason such as multiple entry or you lie in the interview.

This is scary, never heard of 221g until now. How was your interview experience? What kind of question did they ask? Anything about your illegal presence in the U.S?

I believe 221G is usually given to applications that lack evidence on their visa applications. They aren't necessary denied, but the application can end up in "Administrative Processing" until the missing piece of information is provided.

So, make sure you have everything in order. Particularly if you believe you'll need additional sponsors, have a previous divorce, criminal record, etc.

For all you guys with approved I-130, how long did it take? We are coming up on 6 MOs and getting anxious. Did any of you get approved without an interview?

I-130s are only interviewed if they suspect fraud or if you were in removal proceedings.

Mine took about 6 months to get approved.

Re: Official I-601A Thread

So my husband got his fingerprints done recently at a different center, since we moved as he just got the letter for the appointment. The center he had an appointment for is about 4 hours away from where we moved, so he just walked into the nearest location to see if they could do his fingerprints without an appointment and they did. Whenever we check his case online, it just says fingerprint fee received, but it doesn’t say anything else. Do we need to call to say he had his fingerprints done at a different center or do they already process that in their system? How long does it take to receive an update after fingerprints are done?

No. That's what mine said until it was approved. I also did my biometrics at a different location. My attorney and family are in California, so everything is being done from there and I live in the South. I went to the one in my state and did it there. No issues whatsoever.
