If convicted of something very serious (e.g. murder or DUI), you are correct. Nothing wrong with that. I am not ashamed of voicing my view on this.

He has not been convicted of anything. Your comments about his past are pure hearsay. He used the word "risky," which can have different meanings in different contexts.
