All you optimists gonna be disappointed just like the outcome of every single attempt in the past. There are still way too many hoops for this thing to make it through to be realistically optimistic right now.

And for those of you complaining about the wait to mid September... LOL, just wait until the wait to 2030, or 2040, or 2050 when they try to pass DA again.

Lastly, some of you asking the ones who don't believe this will pass "then why are you here?" need to get your head outta yer ass. This isn't a forum just for the blindly optimistic. You can support DA and still be realistic and acknowledge there are more challenges to this passing than strong obvious indicators that it will pass. Just wanting something to pass won't make it pass. Thoughts, prayers, and good vibes from us don't change shit.

You literally said it won't pass, not that it probably won't pass. Your blindly pessimistic. Don't tell other people how to feel.

The ambitious goals of the $3.5 trillion budget plan will be reviewed by the Senate parliamentarian, who has the power to strip out provisions found to be at odds with Senate rules. The full Senate could, however, vote to overrule such decisions.

Yep, parliamentarian can just be ignored.

Is simple majority enough to overrule her?

Yes...but I doubt Manchin would go along with it seeing how he's always all about the 'integrity of the senate'.

I am optimistic though...mostly because this path does not require a single Republican vote.

It would just give him an excuse to back out....plus Sinema as well. They are watching with eagle eyes with regards to spending those two...

Republicans fired the Parliamentarian in 2001 (see link below) for not agreeing with them; the question is would the Dems do the same? Also I believe that the VP could overruled the Parliamentarian so no need Manchin to get involved.

Many Dems (including Chucky) probably want her to rule against it....would give them one more excuse to continue kicking the can further for election purposes.

dude if you want to be hopeful and optimistic then be, I don't think this user is trying to get any pleasure from everyone's anxiety... the thing is that at some point we all just kind of get tired and sick of this maybes, it has been years of this emotional turmoil, it takes its toll.
