Cheer up man. It's not that bad. I mean yeah its bad...but not how you're making it out to be. I would certainly not discourage someone from going to college. It's not a waste of money. We can't tell all dreamers here with college degrees that their degrees and parents struggles to pay for those degrees are a waste. Our first option right now is this new Dream Act. I am a very pessimistic person myself but something tells me this one has a chance if Rubio can get his party together. If not, I really think your predictions about the executive decisions might come true IF OBAMA WINS otherwise its going to be game set match.

This is hard for me to swallow, as, like many of you, I view the United States as my country (came here when I was a few months old).
However, this is the most rational approach to take to our situation.
I would also suggest that we do not get caught up in the political process surrounding the DREAM Act as there is ample evidence that calling senators and representatives doesn't make an ounce of difference. Our life stories, no matter how sympathetic they may sound, are not persuasive enough for those that will always hate us. It's nice when Durbin testifies on record by retelling our stories, but our plight, no matter how desperate and worthy it is of people's empathy, just isn't enough to break a filibuster.
As I stated before, the most realistic scenario for any sort of relief will likely come through executive decisions. That is, upon Obama's reelection (he will 100% get reelected) USCIS may implement some changes regarding the ability of DREAM Act eligible youth to adjust status (without having to be covered by 245 (i) ). Durbin has asked Napolitano to consider granting DREAMers employment authorization (especially with regard to those DREAMers whose deportation cases have been closed due to the Morton memo).
