Ok gonna send it out today.

I think the key is to have it postmarked by the date of the supreme court ruling, which could be days or weeks from now.

Thoughts on this.

I sent mine in with a money order because banks were closed on Monday for a cashiers check. I'm pretty sure USCIS will refund you if they don't accept the application. Either way, it will be reimbursed for me.

I have always done personal checks. The first time from a relative.

People need to stop freaking out. I expire in August. I plan to wait until Friday to see what Congress does. At this point even if we send a renewal application we do not have any guarantees DHS will process them. They will for sure take your money though. In the case congress does nothing, then it will be worth sending in an application. However, if Congress does pass something, and you already sent an application in you will be stuck with a pending DACA case while everyone else is filing for a Green Card.

Question I have: Why @TheJusticeDept didn't seek a formal stay of last week's DACA decision?

You can have two cases with USCIS. I know people who applied for AOS through marriage and sent in their DACA renewal as well. Sending in the renewals is a good back up plan and to be cautious. Even if we do get legalied, that process will take long and some of us might expire during that time waiting.

You can file for both- no biggie. The biggest risk here is not sending in your DACA renewal in the case that nothing happens. Personally, $500 is a price I’m willing to pay.

That's false. They don't take your money if they don't process the application.

That's a good point. If you are losing status in the next few months it is better to renew. If USCIS follows the same timeline they did when DACA was announced, it might take them 2 months to come up with a process plus 5 months to start getting applicants approved.
