wow, seriously? they really are looking for anything to make it take longer or deny it seems.

For those who have gotten approved, how long did it take to get approval? We received the receipt for my husband in April, and in May he got his biometrics done. I’m concerned, because I’ve seen some people who have applied in March already receive approval for the waiver. When we check his case online, it still says we accepted your biometrics fee and are processing the case. When we’ve called USCIS, they just say it’s in within normal processing times.

It took mine 8 months. Where's your husband's? Nebraska has approved a few from March, but mostly working on February. Potomac is taking longer.

It’s the Nebraska center.

Mine took 8.5 months to get approved. I think USCIS says it is taking 8.5-10.5 months.

The processing time is getting longer and longer now. It is 9-12 months right now for nebraska for I601a.

i wonder why? maybe more applications? does anyone here know what are the factors that affect how long the processing takes?

That is one of the biggest mysteries in the process. The best you can do is make sure your application packet is well prepared, include a lot of evidence, and avoid Requests for Evidence (RFE).

So, we finally received some kind of notice but not from USCIS. We received this from the NVC:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in SAN SALVADOR, ELSL to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).
