Re: BRIDGE ACT Vote on Tuesday, DACA Extension Has Enough Votes To Pass
Agreed. This gives us relief while forcing Congress to revisit at some point

Start calling your congressmen and senators right now

Re: BRIDGE ACT Vote on Tuesday, DACA Extension Has Enough Votes To Pass
Most republicans will vote for bridge act because it is a stop gap measure similar to daca.
They can vote on something more permanent later and hammer out the details. Perhaps even pass a 2013 CIR bill. Now is the time that republicans need to realize that demographics are destiny and they need to get right with the Latino community. |

Plus, realistically. We won't get anything passed without serious immigration measures attached to it. Which the democrats won't take.
So, IMO, this is the only realistic option we have |

Re: BRIDGE ACT Vote on Tuesday, DACA Extension Has Enough Votes To Pass
Okay here's my final points.
I think we can ALL definitely agree that the BRIDGE Act is not the best solution given all the bills that are waiting to be voted on to legalize us. HOWEVER, if you think that the issue of Dreamers will somehow be forgotten if this act passes, then you are mistaken. We are all out of the shadows, and if the Bridge act does pass, whether it be in 3 years time or 10 years time, the issue of Dreamers will always be revisited. I honestly feel that one day we will get legalized. Now, I definitely think the other bills should be put to debate (such as the DREAM Act, RACA, "the Conservative DREAM Act"). However, if all the other bills fail but the Bridge Act passes, would you all be sad? I wouldn't. After reading all the posts in this forum, I feel that the ultimate goal is not so much to be legalized - but to be able to work, travel, and live with some form of legal presence without being bothered. Let's just see what happens, but if no compromised is reached, then definitely. I would be happy with the BRIDGE Act. |
Re: BRIDGE ACT Vote on Tuesday, DACA Extension Has Enough Votes To Pass
Even if they pass Bridge Act, then good luck Trump for your Border Wall Funds. Trump may never get his money for the Border Wall. So, I think this bill may pass but it will not work for the President.
