Does anyone know if there is anything that those of us waiting for the 601A to be processed and hopefully approved can do in the mean time to save time in the steps after that. Mine was submitted back in November (7months ago) and not surprisingly, the processing time keeps increasing, now the average time is at 11-14.5months. As of now, my application is half way there in terms of time.

Should I be collection some civil documents or background check docs from my country of origin or gathering medical records... or anything else? what do they ask for after this process. In my case, I have an employment based application for PR, but for the hardship my mother (PR) is sponsoring it.

Recently checked my Visa status on CEAC's website. It says "You have been notified that your registration for an immigrant visa was cancelled, and any petition approved on your behalf was also cancelled. We informed you that your application might be reinstated if, within one year, you could establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control."

I guess i-601a waiver is out of the water.

I think you'll need a medical examination but you don't need other documentation if it's not applicable. E.g. you only need police/court records if you were ever convicted of a crime abroad.

What's your story exactly. You might be able to send them a letter as to why you were dragging your feet (e.g. waiting on I-601A which USCIS should notify DOS of, shit being closed due to COVID, etc). All else fails your sponsor can always file I-824 to throw the case back to Dept of State. Approved petitions generally do not expire.

Get the tax transcripts, those are important. You can go ahead and get your medical history, wait a bit to get the criminal background doc because I think they expire after a year if I'm not mistaken (I had to get mine from my country of origin even though I came here as a minor. I did not have to get one from here because I do not have a criminal record though. Those who do have to)

What country were you born in? Your mother will need to file I-824 when the priority date becomes current for either F2B or F1 (whichever is earlier, if you want to stay in F2B include a letter that you're declining the "upgrade" from F2B to F1 under CSPA) to send the case back to National Visa Center. NVC will send you another packet, you will pay the Affidavit of Support and DS-260 fees. After you pay for DS-260 you will submit I-601A with USCIS. Once I-601A is approved, you will complete and submit DS-260.

for tax transcripts up to how many years back did you submit? And medical records do I need just for the vaccines or all medical records in USA ?

The medical examination is done in your country of origin (Guatemala for me) right? once one travels there for the interview.

Hasn't even been a year, and I already forgot. I think its three years, but could be five for the transcripts. When I went to the medical appointment I brought my vaccination records, and medical history of the last four years and the doctor actually went over it. When the waiver is approved and you have to get the ds260 in order, they give you more information about what you'll need.

They only require the tax transcripts for the most recent year, but you can (optionally) submit the most three recent years.
