I have a few questions about the instate tuition this means that you have to pay the price that state residents do right? If so a person who is processing her residency is able to receive any financial aid?

One more thing does MIT offers any help to students processing their residency?

I have a whole lot more of college related questions is this the right threas to post them?

I went to high school in California and paid in tuition fees in California and got my Bachelor's degree. Will I qualify? I later moved to Texas.

I was able to get in-state tuition here in Florida. 8)

I go to Valencia CC, apparently they don't even want to give kids that were born here in state tuition regardless of having records all the way back to kindergarten, having a valid DL's, etc.

All I did to get in-state tuition was get records of my dad's taxes from a year back (my father has his own SSN, and I have a Tax Payer ID Number), and prove that I was living in the state. Wrote a letter and got it notarized.

And viola! In-state tuition in the state of Florida.

I go to University of Illinois, they require me to fill out a 4 page form in order to apply for in-state tuition, I tried last year and was declined.

It asks for so many requirements like my parents drivers license, tax-return forms, visa, passports, etc.

anyone know if theres an easy way to apply for instate tuition? how did you guys apply for it? :-P

I went to a TX highschool for 2 years and graduated in 2003. Later that year i took 2 classes at a community college. Now after so many years i am in California and starting community college again. After 2 years i plan to transfer to a university but will not be able to afford the out of state tuition.

If i can transfer to a university in TX however, will i be able to get in-state tuition?

You can go here for more info on TX residency.
It's a PDF file written about the requirements to be considered as a resident in TX.

Yeah, you have to fill an affidavit and get it notarized saying that you've graduated from a Texas high school and went there for 3 consecutive years, or have lived in Texas for at least 12 months.

I graduated high school in fl, plan to move to teas in the future. Can I get in state tuition after living there for 12 months? How? thanks

most schools will ask you to fill out a hard copy of the fafsa if youre processing your residency in case youre granted permanent residency during the school year.
