I'm more worried about the House. The only thing giving me hope there is that Ryan has sounded somewhat sympathetic when talking about Dreamers, and he did say that he "wouldn't pull the rug from underneath" us.

What is total BS though is that the White House just barely started talking to Senators and hasn't given them a list of what provisions they are willing to accept, or what they want in the deal. Probably why these talks have been going nowhere. Why bother trying to strike a deal if there is a veto threat?

They probably wanted to secure the tax bill first. Can you imagine if "dreamer amnesty" would have been Trump's first and only real accomplishment? His base would have gone bat shit crazy. The time to pass DA is NOW, right after his tax bill is signed.

This is my worry too. This can quickly derail in January if the WH demands too many poison pills in exchange for DREAM Act/DACA.

Maybe it’s a good thing they sent Kelly instead of Miller to negotiate? If Miller was leading the negotiations then I’d be worried.

If they do then democrats have no excuse not to add this to a spending bill deal. They need to stop blaming republicans and get to work
