Final Push for the Dream Act

Dear DreamAct Portal,

As you might have known, Dream Act has been gaining a lot of momentum thanks to the protest, teach-in, sit-in, arrest, etc of so many courageous Dreamers across the country. It's time for us to be part of the fight. Dream Act, it's now or never.

How do we get to 60 votes? The calculations I did at the beginning of the year, but forgot to post it then. Made a few changes since then. Also, I am a big political junkie, so I didn't just pull this list out of the air.

General Information

Emailing Senators.

You need to use a zipcode from their state, or they wont care since you aren't their constituent. I will provide a zipcode with each senator. I will also provide a city to put in for the address and city section. I will not give specific addresses to be used.

Calling Senators.

If you haven't started calling, I am not sure what you are waiting for. You do not speak with the actual senator, but their staff. The staff is usually nice, so there isn't anything to be scared of. They do ask for a zipcode. You should use the one provided, because some staff members only care about call from their constituents.

Faxing Senators.

Again, also very easy. I have provided below links to send faxes for free if you do not have a fax machine. This will allow 8 faxes per day. Please use them when you can.

8 Free faxes per day.

You are allowed two free faxes per day a the link below.

You can get another two with the link below:

You can get another two with the link below:

Thanks Victor for all this great info. Another thing, If you send emails you can use the zipcode from their office address, its usually on the homepage where the link to email them is located.

Just tell them that you're from their states and give them their state zip code, which I included under each senator's contact information in the post above

Re: Final Push for the Dream Act

I called Crapo from Idaho. The Clerk told me that he is now against the Dream Act and referred me to : http://crapo.senate.gov/issues/culture/Amnesty.cfm

I guess the Idahoians love reaping the benefits of cheap labor...

Re: Final Push for the Dream Act

FYI ALERT for those who send faxes:

You are only allowed to send two faxes to the White House per day....as far as I've experienced anyway....after that, the line goes busy and you won't go through. So...if you're faxing more than two Senators/Congressman about the DA, make sure to send them to their district offices instead.

Okay....Let's get back to work people! =)

Bump.

Hey MODS, can you sticky this call list to the top? That way everybody is on the same page, calling the same senators.

Re: Final Push for the Dream Act

I just found out that it is possible to send more than two faxes per day using faxzero if you use different email addresses. The same might be true for the rest of the fax service websites posted above!

Let's do this people! Use all your email accounts and send faxes to senators multiple times!

Re: Final Push for the Dream Act

Called Hatch and Bennett yesterday and today.
Anyone know if we can call over the weekend?

If anyone wants to call Hatch or Bennett, you can use Taylorsville (zip 84123) or West Jordan (84088.) or Salt Lake (84105) cities. Those are the zips I know.

It takes less than a minute to make a call, guys, don't sit there with your arms crossed in front of the computer, take a minute out of your day and bring yourself closer to the DA. (1-888-254-5087)

Re: Final Push for the Dream Act

You could call over weekend and fill up their voicemail inbox.

I'll probably be doing that. :D I still marvel at the fact that people would take time out of their day to call against the DA. SMH

Time to fill up those voicemails.!! This means you, shy dreamies, that haven't been calling, call now! You'll only be leaving messages on the machine. More messages from us, less room for the anti's.
