GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
http://hispanicohio.northcoastnow.co...mber-election/
By Marcus Atkinson hispanicohio.com editor ohio-gop1The Wall Street Journal has reported the Republican Party is making a conscious effort to have Hispanic nominees for this years Nov. elections as well as the 2012 presidential elections in an effort to attract the largest growing minority population in the country. It is no secret the Republican Party has been criticized for not including the Hispanic voting bloc in their platform. .In states such as Nevada and New Mexico, nominees have expressed strict immigration beliefs. The party hopes that Hispanics will vote for them because the ballot names seem familiar, not necessarily because of similar views on critical issues. “There is a stereotype that Hispanics must be in favor of different policies than I am expressing, and that’s not what I’m finding at all,” said New Mexico Republican gubernatorial candidate Susana Martinez, who would be the country’s first elected female Hispanic governor. Leading Hispanic Republicans on the ballot in Nov. is Florida’s U.S. Senate hopeful Marco Rubio, Nevada gubernatorial candidate Brian Sandoval, and Martinez. Hispanic There is Republican House candidates in Florida, Texas and Washington with conservative views and is in contention for seats as well. The sudden change of approach is off the crest of the Republican national chairman stating there were racist beliefs within the party (the chairman is African-American). In 2008, Barack Obama received almost 70 percent of the Hispanic vote “Hispanics around the country were completely turned off by the immigration debate in 2006,” said Whit Ayers, who is Rubio’s campaign pollster. “But having Hispanic candidates be successful on the Republican ticket and visible nationally will go a long way toward rectifying that damage.” ++++++++++ Inform your fellow Hispanics, not just to vote on the basis of a "name". |
Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
so basically the GOP expects the Hispanic voting population to be stupid and vote for people just because of their names? what racists
|
Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
actually i do believe the stupid voting public are dumb enough to fall for that -_-

Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
I agree also. Same happens with voting with political lines. Half the people who vote someone to be may or representative may not vote on the persons merits, just on their relationship to the polotical. Obama didnt recive black votes based solely on his merits, his skin did play a huge factor. Voting based on race or name makes perfect sense.

The GOP 2012 project George Prescott Bush. GOPers would vote for him because he's a Bush, and to prove they are not racists. Hispanics would vote for him because he's Hispanic. |

A lot of Cubans are like that

Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
uggh unfortunately its true. A lot of cubans are strongly republican as well, they will vote for their party even if they do not agree with the person.
I am afraid Marco Rubio selected the right place to run as a hispanic hating candidate with a hispanic background. Its almost like seeing a Jerry Springer show, the episodes that shows the black guy that is racists against black people because of their skin color and feels they are inferior. Except this person is so far leading in the polls. its a freaking insane. The guy supports the Arizona Law, is anti-immigration, voted against the hispanic justice (sotomayor), and calls the CIR and DA amnesty bills that should not happen. |
Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
Ugh, I hate those who believe they are superior because they have a stupid card with a bunch of fucking number. Especialy when they r hispanic, call it double standard but what am I supposed to do??

Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
Marco Rubio is going to blow up in their face just like Bobby Jindal did. Just 'cause he's brown doesn't mean you found the republican's answer to Barack Obama.

Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
Speaking of Cubans, it looks like Rick Sanchez from CNN was fired for calling Jon Stewart a bigot. Jerk, I never liked Sanchez anyway.

As long as the DA/CIR passes.

Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
Marco is running because he's a politician the people in the primary picked. There were others in the primary, but he has a strong story about pulling himself up by the boot straps - stuff the the GOP loves. He alsos didn't jump on the Arizona law bandwagon.

Re: GOP will have Hispanics for November Election
Did anyone see the senatorial debate in south florida a few hours ago?
Did Marco Rubio support something exactly like the DREAM Act at the very end of the debate but said he did not approve of the DREAM Act because it covered people over the age of 35? does he think the DA is for people that came here at least of 35 years of age, because I think there would be a stronger argument for someone that came here as a minor and has been here since childhood for a longer period of time. gut feeling tells me he was just acting, but then the what if is not leaving me alone. |
