REAL ID pushed back to 2013?
http://www.ilw.com/immigrationdaily/...,0309-dhs.shtm
SUMMARY: Pursuant to the Department of Homeland Security's REAL ID regulations, States must be in full compliance with the REAL ID Act of 2005 by May 11, 2011. This final rule changes that date to January 15, 2013. This change will give States the time necessary to ensure that driver's licenses and identification cards issued by States meet the security requirements of the REAL ID Act. DATES: Effective on March 7, 2011. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Steve Kozar, Office of State-Issued Identification Support, Screening Coordination Office, Department of Homeland Security, Washington, DC 20528 (202) 447-3368. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: I. Background The REAL ID Act of 2005 (the Act) \1\ prohibits Federal agencies, effective May 11, 2008, from accepting a driver's license or personal identification card issued by a U.S. State for any official purpose unless the license or card has been issued by a State that meets the requirements set forth in the Act. Section 205(b) of the Act authorizes the Secretary of Homeland Security to grant States extensions of time to meet the requirements of the Act if the State provides adequate justification for noncompliance. |

(It's under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security and it will track every move of Americans). The government could put on this card : prescriptions, tax information, family information, social security number, legal information, etc. The simple answer is, ANYTHING they want. The REAL ID violates the 10th Amendment because driver's licenses should be under control of individual states and not the federal government. This also means decreased security. To steal someone's identity, thieves need to duplicate only one ID not as many as people have now. You will be REQUIRED by the federal government to carry this "national ID" card everywhere. To vote, enter federal buildings, fly, buy a plane ticket, even if you're just sitting outside. You will have to carry it at all times whether you are driving or not. The people who are here on a visa will be required to carry this ID as well the moment they come to this country and the ID will expire the same day the visa does. All the applicants have to provide ( this doesn't apply to those on visa because they obviously can't provide a SSN): - Documentation of birth date ( i.e: birth certificate) - A photo ID - Third party documentation showing name and place of residence - Documentation of legal status and Social Security number I hope this helps. |

Re: REAL ID pushed back to 2013?
Hey people! :)
I was trolling some person on a conspiracy forum and they were assuring me that Real Id will go into effect on May 11, 2011 even though I know the deadline to comply has been extended to January 13, 2013. Today finally came and I got back to the trolling and this person tells me that it did go into effect in a sense that id's that are not under real id regulations are invalid for federal use until all states adhere to real id by January 13, 2013 and that there were no indications of real id passing because the socialist president is sneaking it past the patriots. XD I find this hard to believe because it would be very expensive to have changed everything so swiftly and without seeing it on the news so I was just wondering if any part of his/her "federal use" claim is true. I've done my research but I tend to skim and read too quickly and i'm afraid I might have missed or misinterpreted some information. |
