McCain says Arizona, Hispanic vote ‘up for grabs’

WASHINGTON — Sen. John McCain said Sunday that the potentially powerful Hispanic vote in the upcoming presidential election remains “up for grabs” because neither President Barack Obama nor Republicans have convinced these voters that they are on their side.

Re: McCain says Arizona, Hispanic vote ‘up for grabs’

“I think that the Republican party has to discuss this issue in as humane way as possible,” he said. [McCain] later added, “the enthusiasm on the part of Hispanics for President Obama is dramatically less than it was in 2008, because he has not fulfilled his campaign promises either. So I view the Hispanic vote up for grabs.”

Humane way????????!!!!!!!! Hijo de tu perra madre. You voted no against the DA. His mouth should bleed puss for using the word humane. That short-armed bastard.

"More specifically, McCain said, GOP presidential candidates should find a way to address the status of illegal immigrants already in the country while finding a way to secure the border to deter others from crossing the border"

Does this mean he believes in a compromise NOW?!

Well, well, well. All of a sudden, McCain want to talk about dealing with illegal immigrants and immigration in a "humane way." Does this sound like bullshit or is it just bullshit? As I can recall, McCain said after he lost the Presidential election in 2008 that (and I quote) "I WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY IMMIGRATION REFORM THAT REWARDS LAWBREAKERS." Look all I'm saying is I don't trust anything that comes out of any Republicans mouth cause like a dirty diaper, they are full of shit. But at the same time, now that he has realized that the Latino votes is up for grabs in 2012, he should be reaching across the aisle and work with Democrats to at least pass the DA. Last time I checked, actions speak louder then words. But I think him coming out and having the audacity to use the word humane on the issue of immigration is just only cause he wants a Republican in the White House and Obama to be a one term President. If that happens, which it won't because so far Obama has already raised $90M for his re-election, the Republicans will go back on their word. I didn't trust McCain in 2008 and sure don't trust his ass now. Obama for 2012. OCCUPY DREAMERS....OCCUPY DREAMERS....OCCUPY DREAMERS....SPREAD THE WORD....OCCUPY DREAMERS!

Well think about it. He supported Immigration Reform. The latinos supported Barrack Obama. What did you expect him to do on the issue? He wrote McCain Kennedy. He figured they weren't loyal to him for sticking his neck out and so why bother.

The latino community doesn't owe him anything. He is a Senator of the United States, he supposed to come up with fair and just solutions for hard-pressing issues like immigration. Unfortunately, he and many other Senator would rather save their own skin. I think its time for term limits.

Yeah, but he is oviously trying to stick his neck out for us now. Disgusting. Again, he left his balls in Vietnam. He should go back and search for them.

My point is a Republican that supports immigration reform is a thousand times more valuable than a Democrat who does, because he can garner a bigger coalition to follow him

I agree 100%. I don't understand why when a republican changes his/her mind in our favor most people get upset. We really need to create a momentum among repubublicans. WE BADLY NEED THEIR SUPPORT. whether we like it or not. THIS IS ABOUT POLITICS not about thrue love.

I hope so! I'm glad he recognizes that Obama failed to free the Latino kids as he promised. I hope he knows that if the Republicans don't do something about this, the Hispanic vote will never forgive them. They'll be doomed because of the injustice that they themselves caused.

I know what you guys mean, and I too agree; however, do politics really need to be like this? Call me an idealist, but I don't think so. These bastards are supposed to solve the country's problems not flip-flop on issues for political gain. And, it's evidently cynical flip-flopping. What happened to Mr. secure-our-borders first? No, now he wants to be on our side now that the Latino vote is up for grabs. If Obama wins, I am quite sure that this cynical little Republican will go back to secure-the-border-first rhetoric.

Sorry guys. I am just really bitter toward Republicans. I cannot stand politicans like him. They play politics and at the same time disregard the fact that they are screwing with human lives.

whys everyone mad at mccain he's probably been the most reasonable voice in his party for a really long time, compare that to the nominees this year, but even worse, what has obama even done? we cant give that guy credit for shit, he had all of congress to pass whatever he wanted and what did he do? i remember when he got voted into office some posters appeared of obama painted as the joker and look how hes turned out,

atleast the last republican in office did make a real effort to get something passed not like this guy, a day before congress closed trying to rush it in there, fuck those democrats, and oh yea, it could of still passed if those remaining dems would of sided with their party, theyve done it for other things before and they aint shit vs their party and the president, so just let that settle in on how serious the dems are, nothings getting done cuz repubs dont care, but if more ppl start talking like mccain, u can bet sure as hell the dems would shit their pants and get something passed but right now they just take hispanics and all minorities for granted

You're right.

And Bush did try harder than Obama on immigration reform . . .

I agree with you, but Bush also waited until his second term. So I think we schould stick with Obama.

LINDSAY GRAHAM SAYS Hiiiiiiiii. Whatever happened to this guy? He seemed like the one person who could bring in GOP support. I definitely favor him over this FART of a Senator McCain.

Actually Bush didn't wait until his second term. He was working early on his administration to pass immigration reform, Colin Powell (Secretary of State) was directly involved to pass CIR but 9/11 changed everything. Then Bush tried again on his second term.
I think only hard liners on immigration have a reason to "stick with Obama" with his record on deportations and his nule attempt to pass CIR. We cannot uncondionally support democrats when we badlly need GOP support, specially without knowing who will be the GOP candidate and what he have to offer.
