Now is the time for Rubio to draft a Dream Act bill.

Re: Dont be fooled by Marco Rubio

This Republican Convention was a clear attemp to get the latino vote, from white folks holding "Hispanics 4 Mitt" signs to Rubio telling the story of how his father struggled to Mitts son speaking spanish.

Mitt and Paul will turn on us if we beleive all their lies and hypocrisy!!

Vote Obama 2012 and lets keep moving Forward!

Its easy for him to say things. Cubans don't have to go through all that immigration crap that is set for people from other countries. All cubans have to do is set foot on US soil and they can file as refugee. He really doesn't know what an immigrant goes through.

Dear Marco Rubio,
You had a chance to be Romney's VP with your Work authorization plan.
Too bad Obama beat you to it while you were pandering to latinos.

Yeah, I usually don't point out a certain person's race and cry unfair, but in this case, it's rather shameless that this is still in effect today. It's effectively legal illegal immigration from Cuba.

And I remember when people used to drink the kool-aid that Rubio was offering on this site. Those were darker days for this site I imagine.

I was one of the Rubio-believers... I should've known better

He paved way for the Deferred Action tho so I can't complain!

Pro tip : Marry a Cuban rafter and you will get permanent residency faster than marrying a USC.

no joke.

no joke.

I can corroborate that, I know someone that did and the petition is in a special category as a result, however, its not without issues.

In Florida, I can imagine is common, but in other states where cuban immigrants are seldom found, which is where this person started the USC application process, they lost a lot of time because they where not used to the process and tried to send this person running in circles.

Re: Dont be fooled by Marco Rubio

BTW, is Rubio still relevant?

I believe he could make a good switch when he was running for Senate, and he did something like that, but the timing that he chose also demonstrated that he was only pandering to the latino vote in hopes to look appealing to Romney as a VP pick that could bring the latino vote and is still on a similar page with many issues, including immigration.

Yes, he had meetings with immigrant youth organizations, and some people where hopeful, but those that had experience with the dirty game of policies from past experiences where a lot more cautious and called his bluff correctly, he backed down when Obama announced the deferred action and did not release the DREAM Act bill he was working on, which on many occasions he claimed had been written, but never released anything other than verbal statements about what it could probably contain.

All the Dreamers should. He can still pull the Hispanics from Obama right now.

I never believed for a minute Rubio would do anything good for us. The man ran his campaign on being hardline on immigration. He's a snake plain and simple. Anyone counting on him and the Republicans to pass the Dream Act needs to get their heads checked seriously. Our best hope is to help Obama and then work to get immigrant friendly candidates into Congress. That's pretty much it.

This is the REALEST post ever on Rubio.

Puh-leeze, I remember his campaign. He was betting on people having amnesia, being disenchanted with Obama, and using his Hispanic heritage to try to make inroads for the Hispanic vote on behalf of the Republican party with that bill.

I'm pretty sure Congress is what we need to look out for this election cycle. Obama let healthcare be led by the House Democrats (and this was his baby) so I highly doubt he is going to lead on CIR/Dream Act especially since he did the Executive Order.

He could, but looking at the past, he won't since he's not in control anymore.

He'll make an excuse to avoid the DA issue altogether if it actually comes up for a vote.

Rubio is against the current DREAM ACT. He's against a pathway to citizenship, I don't think he will vote Yes on the current DA, maybe he will change his mind later who knows.

GOP are against a direct path to USC. I really liked what he was going to introduce in June.
