OFFICIAL: Q&A for DACA forms Part 2

While many of us have filled out the forms, there are still those that haven't. This is a continuation of the following thread , which was getting too long. Please continue to post Q&A relative to DACA forms here.

1. Application #
2. Pg #
3. Q#
4. What is your question?

P.S.
Does this apply for all the forms?

Sorry to come off a bit harsh, but u have to be reading the application in order to fill it out. U have to sign the I-821D and the I-765 where they tell u to sign.

Yes I agree many people, are clueless about filing applications and have trouble filing for them selves, I suggest that if you can't afford a lawyer [which is a conpletely unnecessary expense unless you hace been previously arrested or have had contact with immigration in the past]
Visit your consulate or other free shops where they are assisting applicants to file and revise Applications and timely evidence of residence.

Re: OFFICIAL: Q&A for DACA forms Part 2

Yes, hiring a lawyer NEVER crossed my mind. It was so straight forward to me. Plus, I've seen people use a lawyer and come away frustrated because they knew more than the lawyer did, or the lawyer did not send their application in a timely manner. If you ask me, all you need is the threads from this forum to get a basic idea of how to assemble your application.

Re: OFFICIAL: Q&A for DACA forms Part 2

Even if you’re not paying for it: it cost someone money to support you.

Total up housing, food, education, etc. cost average for the year. Explain that your expenses are covered by others in the space provided.

If you've no income, put 0 in for Annual Income.

I forgot to add any type of other information in the Address when I mailed my application. I just put USCIS and that is it. Would that prolong my mail from being opened..? I figured they would open it as soon as they got it. But then after I sent it I felt like an idiot for not at least putting the Application form numbers on the USPS box.

Any input would ease my mind a bit... :)

I put ATTN: AOS instead of ATTN: DACA and still got my email notification.

AOS means Adjustment of Status.

The instructions of DACA and I-821D mention that when you are mailing your app to a Lockbox for Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, you should mail it with "ATTN: DACA"

Says so here,

Help!
I haven't send my app yet because I don't know what to answer in part 1 removal proceedingg question. I was "caught" by border patrol 9 years ago and while detained they asked me to sign a document containing personal info and extra stuff (I was 13 yrs old back then). I have NO idea of what I really signed. Then 10 days I came back and have continously resided in United States.
I already talked to different attorneys and some told me to answer no, other told me to do a fbi background check to find out what it really happenned. Where can I get a FBI background check? What should I do?
Every time a see a new attorney I get more confused

Man, this process is driving me cuh-razy. I never thought in a million years that I'd be worried about proving that I'm illegal :P

Anyway, here's my number--I mean, question.

1. Application i-821d and i-765
2. Pg 2 (i-821d), Pg 1 (i-765)
3. Q 16b (i-821d), 10 (i-765)
4. So having done some research on what's supposed to be valid I-94 departure numbers, it seems mine was misprinted. There are only 10 digits for that number instead of the 11 that's supposedly valid. Everything else on my I-94 is ok, it's got my name, a stamp of arrival and expiration date, but that part. Can I still submit this even if the number was effed up? Do I leave them blank (since it says, if applicable)?

I would put just the first ten numbers and in the additional information section you could always comment that there was a misprint and your number only had 10 digits. And they'll see that is the case by the copy of I-94 with your application.

Hmm...that's tricky. Here is the link to get a FBI background check:
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/bac...est-to-the-fbi

I would say no and write up an explanation in Part 7: Additional Information

I don't think you should apply without a lawyer - especially if you signed something (though if you were a minor, not sure if that changes things). Also try to speak to your parents about it and get more clarification if possible about what you signed, etc. ...such as, was there a hearing your family was supposed to attend that you missed? I know often times parents don't like to be forthcoming, but do the best you can. Getting a background check is definitely a good idea.

Should we send all the info and proof we can find or should we just send the proof that answers the main 7 questions?
One of my friends said to send everything I can find from school awards to College receipts & to include an index with everything numbered so that ICE can identify where everything is with ease. What do you guys think?

you always have expenses even if you don't pay for them like someone answered you before. you have to eat, drink, etc those are expenses. tell them your expenses per year and write who pays for them and why you now need a work permit so you can pay for your own expenses.

ICE will not be checking your app, thank goodness USCIS will. anyhow... send the proof that answers the main 7 questions. do not overwhelm your application, make it as easy as you can but make sure you have concerede evidence as well. like for college, you can send a copy of your degree or/and transcripts, or college acceptance letter, send a receipt if you don't have transcripts or letters or diploma but make sure it has your name on it. send high school transcripts or/and diploma. for june 15 2012 anything with your name on it. send only affidavits to support your proof, they are not taking affidavits alone. send bank statements, statements are hard evidence. USCIC is first scanning your app and checking for signatures. you can index and organize however you see it's best and easier for somebody to understand.

So far I have: Birth Certificate with English Translation
Mexican Consular ID
Current College ID
I-TIN NUMBER
Immunization Records
Official School Transcripts K-College
Bank Statement from May 24, 2012 - June 25, 2012

Should that be enough? And should I send my tax returns that I filed with my I-Tin?
Thanks for the help!

I think that is enough, these items seem to cover all the bases so you don't need to add the tax returns.

For those working with fake/false social security numbers:
Are you guys including it in the I-765 (app for employment authorization). Different attorneys have different opinions! :?

I know I need a lawyer, but the problem is to find the right one. When I go to see a new lawyer, I feel that they just want my money to fill the forms answering NO to that specific question. Besides, they just tell me not to worry that is not so "serious"
But I think it really is!!!!!

It's not recommended to put 0 on expenses. Even if you don't pay for it; still, you are the one who's spending the money. You actually shouldn't put 0 on expenses because you are trying to prove that you need to earn money. If you don't have any expenditure, it means that you don't need to spend money...

My recommendation is to find a legal clinic specially designed for DACA, or try to find a non-profit organization that deals with immigration in your local area.

I think I may have a problem. I sent out my I-821D application a week ago but I got mixed up and sent both the one that was meant to be sent and a copy of all the documents sent which i was supposed to keep for my personal records. I thought USCIS would notice that they are duplicates and discard the copies but today I received the initial review message and I was sent two with two different receipt numbers. I am going to give them a call tomorrow and hope to sort out this confusion.
Has anyone had this happen to them?

Delivery date is what really matters, I would SCREAM at a lawyer for doing that PERIOD. Whether he was processing DACA or anything for me. These individuals are SUPPOSED to be professionals. How much white-out did he/she use?

im sure he's not the only one to have ever white something out on the applications, worst case scenario theyll ask you to resubmit. In any case, Ithink you'll be fine.

You mean in employment for application? If so, manner of last entry, if she entered illegally, put "without inspection" For current immigration status, "unlawful status: deferred action for childhood arrivals by ice"

Re: OFFICIAL: Q&A for DACA forms Part 2

Hello,
New to the forum with a couple of questions hopefully someone can help with.

1. Can anyone suggest where to get a Mexican birth certificate translated into English?
2. If you have had it done, was it notarized as well?
3. I worked at McDonalds in 2010 using a SSN that was not mine. I don't know I it was made up or belonged to someone else. I filed taxes under a ITIN number I had as well. The tax return and pay stubs are all I really have to show I was here in the US for 2010. I have all the other years covered. Should I use those pay stubs and tax return as proof even though I may have worked under a fraudulent number. I really had no idea how it was acquired. A friend just helped me
when I was 17. Any thoughts?

Thank you.

But she didn't entered without inspection though! She I don't know if you're familiar with the Border Crossing Cards I am certainly not but she was inspected and presented her BCC...
