EXTENSION for submiting your STORY!
 

It's Monday and in 4 hours the original deadline to submit your story to me will be over. Since I have not collected enough stories (15) and since we're so close, I am extending the deadline till Wednesday, August 15th. That should give me plenty of time to send them and get them to the senators by the time they start up again and begin debate on the DOD bill.

So... new deadline: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15, 2007 (noon-central time)

SEND IN YOUR STORIES! Make them as detailed as you'd like. I have recieved some excellent ones that gave me goose bumps and teary eyes. This should definitely give us enough to get the 15. I need 3 more to reach that goal. If we go over, that's even better!

*Can be as long as you want it to be
*Must be clear and easy to read
*PM me the story, no matter the length
*Optional: include name and state you currently live in

I will read over them and correct any small grammar mistakes... I will not alter any of your sentences.

Everyone, please spend an hour tonight an write up a brief history of your life as an undocumented immigrants! It is ridiculous that we have not received at least 15 entries! We have so many people on this board, and we still haven't been able to accumulate 15 stories! I know a lot of you waste an hour on Facebook or MySpace each day, including myself. Use that time to write up your stories!

How many stories do you have, my borther is very, very shy and does not want my greedy eyes to get a hold of his inner demons :twisted: . Still, he said that if you only have 14 he will do it. which by the way does not make it okay for all of you slackers to do nothing. We should have at least 100 biographies, yet we cannot get 15. This is a joke, I can 15 minute man to kiss my brown illegal face! Don't make me shake my fist at you!

As of right now I have 15 stories! yay! But that doesn't mean you shouldn't send in more... The deadline is still tomorrow at noon, so if you still want to send your story in, that would be great :)

I have over 15 pages... it would save me money if I printed on both sides of a sheet of paper... but I don't know if that would look good/professional. My opinion is it wouldn't. Let me know what you think.

Oh and I found out what Oprah's address is (well Harpo Production's address)! So I'm definitely sending them to her.

I think you're right, i would say more professional on only one side of the paper, but if you're really strapped for cash it's ok. I just finished mine, and I'm sending it to you now! :)

I think you should post the people that wrote a letter, just to give the ones that didn't shame. I'm writing mine right now and will send it soon.

Wow writing this letter is harder than I thought. I will be staying up late and waking up early but you can definitely expect it in your mailbox taskgirl :)

Oh and I don't think you should do the two sided thing unless you absolutely have too because sometimes people just skim and skip the back of pages. Oh and you might be getting my letter at 11:59 hehehe

Hey everyone! I am proud to report that I have received 23 stories! Thank you so much for all that have participated. Including mine, we will have 24 stories in total. The entire collection of stories will be approximately 30 pages.

The only problem for me is the cost it will take to copy them and send them out. Copying 30 pages, 100 times over is extremely expensive and then sending 100, 11x 15in envelopes will cost me a total of about $350. So, what I'm going to do is send the stories to the 40 or so senators who are against the DREAM Act or are undecided. Then when I get some more money, I will try to send it to the rest of them. Or I might just fax them. I didn't realize it would cost this much. But I will definitely send the stories to the "priority" senators.

why don't we get a donation. I mean if we 20 of us donate like 5 or 10 dollars then we can do it.

And I promise... for some of the skeptics out there, that I will not keep the money for myself... you can do the math and see how much it really costs to copy and send 100, 30-page stories.

You can buy credit card gift cards and use them in any store. Also, with paypal, you have to upgrade to a premium account to receive credit card payments. I think the fee it's like 2.9%. So it's pointless to donate anything less than 5 bucks, it's just not worth it.

P.S. you can't blackmail me when I have naked pictures of you.

Do you think you can create a new thread requesting donations, and just keep us up to date on the money we've donated and the amount we need. I don't think you should pay for any of this since you have been working hard with these stories.
