I will bet my life those so called fake gays will never make it pass the interview,,,the amount of proof needed will be 10x more than a hetro couple...I would love to see them pulling this off,kissing and speaking about there personal lives..changing beneficiaries ,adding credit cards and not to mention photos...

Besides who is willing to take a chance on getting caught for fraud when CIR is so close..

I am just going to go ahead and assume you are Christian and it may come off as a surprise to you that marriage is not exclusive to Christianity or any particular religion. These types of unions have been around for much longer than you think. Why is it so hard for some people to accept that we live in a country that is supposed to have a SECULAR government. Religion shouldn't have any say in our politics hence why there is a separation of church and state.
Marriage is a legal term not a religious one that has important implications in things such as filing taxes, getting wills, sponsoring a spouse for a green card, adoption etc. If hypocrites, are going to cite Leviticus when going against gay marriage then why dont they cite the parts of Leviticus that says a woman is unclean if she is on her period or the part that says ejaculation is a sin??

As if any of us have any room to deny anyone a right. Ignore the subject if you're against it, or put time and effort into arguing against it, but regardless, it's happening now and anyone's thought of it are irrelevant but the people who benefit from it.

Go gays! Get those green cards, stay with your loved one.

Why do people think it's somehow easier for straight people to marry their straight friends? It would add a lot of awkwardness to say the least. If you can convince a straight friend to fake marry you, why can't you convince a girl to do it? Of course it's doable, but you'd have to have some progressive friends.

Then you'd bet wrong. For example my best friend wanted to move out before going to college, so did I. What I didn't know about him was that his parents always told him what to do at home. So he seemed very capable but when he was on his own... well it was the opposite of that.

To make it cheaper we got a 2 bedroom apartment that we split halfway. He doesn't really know how to be on his own, so he's terrible at managing his financials (as in he would max out his credit cards on the girls he likes if not for me). So I manage them for him. Put this all together I know more about him than any of his girlfriends or even his parents. And he knows more about me than he knows about his other friends... which isn't much really.

So to recap:
We happen to live together, I manage his money as well as my own. I added him to my credit cards to help boost his score (he doesn't get to use my cards). He's also not the most capable person alone so if we would be interviewed separately that would be plainly obvious.

In regards to kissing... heh... My friends who married for green card weren't required to kiss for the immigration officials. I don't see why we would either.

But I don't think I'll be doing this. Though thanks to this roomate situation we could pull it of easier than if I were to try it with a recent girlfriend. I'll wait for CIR first. See how that goes.

Just being roommates would provide plenty of proof though, 2 people on same lease, paying for the same apartment/utilities. Sharing internet/cable services, perhaps going to the same college and so on.

Same sex marriage is inevitable and no civilization will crumble because of it. Only uneducated macho men and highly religious people oppose it.

Plus you would have to get married and believe u me these immigration officer's will be looking for friendship versus relationships...your chemistry will scream straight unless one of you is actually gay..don't get me wrong some will try and maybe succeed but now u will be legally married and um it's not so easy to get a gay divorce especially if your state doesn't recognize it..just my thoughts ..

Then they should ban heterosexual couples from marriage as well. Besides If you dont wanna get married with the same sex then dont. whos forcing you people anyway? not gay? then dont get married but dont take other peoples rights from marrying the people they love just because you wont benefit from it.

It really depends on what kind of an officer you get. I know someone who married two women just to get money. The second time was especially suspicious (right after he became a US citizen). He was literally only marring illegal women and wasn't even living with them.

So the interview was separate right from the get go due to suspicion.

He was asked things like "What's the name of the street across her house" "Why don't you live together?" etc. He didn't even know the street name. Thought he failed, yet it worked out.

Imagine if you actually marry someone you love and want to spend the rest of your life with but you are bad at remembering things and they deny your petition. Maybe you're also not good with showing affection in public/around other people as well? What then? Appeal? Sue? Not good.

Also most of those officers will be straight and might not even know all the ways a legitimately in love gay/lesbian couple might act. Some people just have the personality of a doorknob.

Now of course, get an officer who doesn't like bullshit and you'll risk deportation. But it's definitely possible to get ready.

Like I said previously though. If you are marrying just for a green card and paying them, then it's easier to marry the opposite sex (if you have the money). I assume (like you mentioned) most straight people don't want to have a gay marriage on their record. They likely wouldn't want to go around announcing it to their friends either. What if that officer decides to check your facebook and sees that you are actually dating a woman or are single and looking for women? Haha. I don't know if they can do that, but what if? There's definitely complications.

But yeah, there will be people who will pull it off I'm certain.

Now of course... They could just pass CIR. :D That would help prevent such fraud with both gay and straight marriages! It would also mean that the money would go USCIS instead of some person who decides to enter into such a sham marriage. But it's not like I need to convince the people here on the merits of passing CIR.

In the end If I were to say now that "I'll do this!" that would mean I'm probably joking. Don't know if I could have a gay marriage and then divorce following me around. Maybe in the future I won't give a shit. As long as I get what I need right? Whatever it takes :roll:.
