Re: Official DACA Process Time Thread Part 2 (new applicants)

Okay, with what's going on in the last few days regarding the potential shutdown I have one question. If the republicans get what they want and the funding of the DACA and the expansion of the DACA gets canceled, then what will happen to the applications that have already been submitted? Will they be cancelled? Or will the ruling only affect people that have not applied yet?

Uscis is not funded through tax payer money. It's funded through application fees so we are ok.

That's good to hear. However, if a new funding bill gets passed which does not have a part for the DACA program, will the program be cancelled?

If it passes Obama said he would veto it.

In my opinion we are OK as long as Obama is still in office.

Got the approval notice today..awaiting on my card.

I was approved on February 26, 2015 it says in the notice that I am approved until February 25, 2017.

Not sure why I got two years instead of 3. Regardless, God is good.

Re: Official DACA Process Time Thread Part 2 (new applicants)

EAD will be for 2 years as the 3 year was part of the Nov. 2014 daca update that was temporary blocked by a Texas judge and the few 100,000 of EAD for 3 years might be canceld depending what the judge says.

Warning you will get even more impatient for these things to arrive than ever before. It's pretty ridiculous actually. I think it's because because we are so close and yet far enough.

Hi everyone, I've seen a lot of people getting approved quickly for their first time applying. As you can tell from my signature this is my second time applying for DACA and the application was routed to the CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER And still have not heard anything from them in regards of approval or RFE. I am getting very anxious since I was laid off from work last week after 3 years working there with no legal documentation. Now I'm struggling to find a job that would let me work Part time, since I'm currently a college student. Does anyone happen to know in what month applications is the CSC working on? I know that for the first time applicants is 6 month, but other people that have applied and shared a very close timeline with me where approved last month. Any output would be appreciated.

Were you given a reason on why you were denied the first time? or why it took so long?? Have you had troubles with law enforcement in the past? fraud?

Re: Official DACA Process Time Thread Part 2 (new applicants)

No I don't have any criminal record. I was brought here as a child and overstayed my visa. And the reason for the denial was because supposedly I didn't respond to the RFE within the timeframe given.

That sounds very weird, especially since it took them forever to deny you anyway... I am sorry. Hopefully everything goes a lot smoother this time. I sent in my application in November and got approved in the beginning of this month, so it took about 5 months, maybe a little longer. Hope everything goes well for you!
