Even while still protected by DACA, the order says, the government will not grant them “advance parole.” That means that should they leave the country, they would not be allowed to return.

Finally, this draft order would also put the nail in the coffin of Obama’s 2014 attempt to extend that program to cover a broader group of unauthorized immigrants — DAPA — which had already been blocked in court. All in all, if implemented, the order would roll back President Obama’s most significant legacy on immigration.

Spicer said today that there are documents circulating around that arent whitehouse official. People asked him about it and he said that there is no point in discussing it because they were never issued from the white house and does not know what the source of the documents are.

lol I remember distinctly that when Obama started DACA, a bunch of ungrateful children on here were calling it a political stunt and pandering to immigrants and that "they're all the same". Can we now agree that they're not all the same?

TIll this day I have not forgotten about you Aman brahhh. You're one of the veteran dreamers who aged out. We had our little skirmish but I am still adamant and hopeful for an overarching solution going forward.

I hope one day when this is all over and we're all either citizens or green card holders that we can throw a big party and have a meetup. Until then, we're all still in the battle together so we need to hunker down and wait out the storm.

All in all, I feel like we had a glimmer of hope based on what Trump and others have been saying, but when you get down to it, this was completely expected and it's just time to step up and make the best of your life.

It might be leaving the country, going into the shadows, or marrying a citizen, but you should've always been expecting the worst and preparing for the worst case.

In fact, this is not the worst case at all since we can ride out the rest of the EAD.

What constitutes a criminal act has been expanded to those who are now simply "charged" with a crime, not even convicted in a court of law. I did say this is how he was going to get to that 2-3 million number and many said it was also being pessimistic even though it was very accurate!

Now, what many don't know is that ICE officers also have discretion in revoking Deferred Action. Tripling the ICE officers even when you legally are authorized to do so still presents some hazard.

I want to be optimistic, but unfortunately I don't think these are very far off what will be signed.
Just a prediction, but if there's going to be any change on the bright side- it's stopping DACA renewals with a few months out to give congress time to act and use it as a bargaining chip with Dems

Nothing yet is signed, but I think we should be prepared at the very least. It could be this is to make good on those hardliner promises he's made, while pushing for longer-term solutions that include some sort of protection, perhaps even legalization for us.

I wouldn't go that far. The EO card has not been played yet. Let's be patient until something is actually done.
