Re: McConnell on DACA
Pass a fucking solution damn it!!
I believe that this is a good sign. Trump's statements basically has created an environment where Republicans have the go to vote on a solution without so much political danger. |

Re: McConnell on DACA
Trump has basically moved the party so far right that Republicans were like damn can we win another election if we don't moderate? Millenials and young kids will always have negative views of the Republican Party.

Here in the Midwest there are Trump loving people all over. Trump has not moved right Trump has moved into some obscure dimension where nothing makes sense. His actions are not conservative, they are totalitarian in nature. Thanks to Miller and Bannon. |
Re: McConnell on DACA
Congress should just make a law that would grant green cards to all DACAers.

Re: McConnell on DACA
But my question is...
Is there anyone in Congress working on a immigration bill? Is there anyway someone, or some organization can pressure Congress on working on a bill? The clock is ticking, and the lack of action of the congress will cost a lot to many of us. |

Trump also flipped a lot of places that Obama had won easily. There was this one place in Ohio that had a 42 point swing. |

Yeah...ok Mitch McConnell of all people? Let's take a stroll down memory lane to December 2010, I believe it was the 10th. Some of the Dreamers on this site must still remember this, some may have been a bit young and may not have been aware of their statuses back then. Even though I am legalized now, I still remember that day very clearly and I will caution people to be very careful in trusting what he is saying. That morning had 2 Bills up for vote in the Senate; the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell and the Dream Act. I remember Mitch McConnell getting in front of the cameras to say that they would not be able to stop the repeal of DADT but they would "definitely" be able to defeat the Dream Act. I remember being so dumbfounded as to why he disliked us so much that he would want the Dream Act to fail so badly. Sure enough the Dream Act failed that morning and I remember just feeling numb that morning and not eating all day. Since when did he have a change of heart? It is worrisome that they keep bringing up DACA, they need to just leave it alone until they have something better passed; anything else that they say is hot air and I would not believe one word. |
Re: McConnell on DACA
Obama really helped us out with DACA. Now they will be forced to pass a bill if daca gets taken away.

Re: McConnell on DACA
The 'change of heart' comes from McConnell having no back bone (literally and figuratively). He's the epitome of sly a bureaucrat that'll please anyone and anybody to keep their jobs, in this case I have a feeling he's repeating Trump's words to appeal to, well, Trump.
That being said I don't see it as a negative for us if he's willing to do a 180 on DACA just to please his boss. Why not take advantage of his no neck / no back bone / no soul -ness. |
Re: McConnell on DACA
Enlist act now has 77 co sponsors. Huge chance to pass since more are republican than democrat.

Enlist act will pass before bridge act- "the bandaid on a bleeding wound"
Who wants bridge act anyway? Its basically guaranteeing the death of DACA. Enlist act has plenty of sponsors and still has a pulse, meanwhile bridge act is dying and slowing down. I don't know where yo |
Re: McConnell on DACA
im guessing itll be none of the above.

Re: McConnell on DACA
the bridge, enlist, safe acts if passed has the full power of law through the legislative powers of the congress, it cannot be repealed by the president, AG, DHS Sec.
its not the same as DACA because DACA can be rescinded anytime, any relief passed by the legislative branch has the full implementation and power of the law, it gives the beneficiaries a more solid grounding and security. and yes, Bridge Act gives us PPP rather than an unlawful presence waver that DACA only grants us. you can travel and establish stronger ties to your residency with PPP. pretty sure all of these bills can and will pass the Congress and yes there will be minority in the GOP such as steve king and ted cruz who will vote against it. i say so because people in here are pessimists and daca will end next week and we are all getting deported. The Bridge Act will most likely pass.

Re: McConnell on DACA
yeah... they should just find a way in commitee to legalize. just end the issue?

 You mean the same congress that even though it should've passed the budget, decided to sit on their asses? The same congress that has people blocking bills from moving forward? Face the music, bridge act is a way for them to cleanly get rid of us with as little work as possible, because congress is terrifically good at doing NOTHING. It'll pass, and then once the 3 years are up, they'll decide to do nothing. Oh I get it, you feel entitled to greencards, but dont want to put anything up for it. Enlist act will make sure it's BLOOD that pays for the greencards. It sure would be nice that enlist act and bridge act passed, but it looks like enlist act is way more alive than bridge act. -Much Love and Friendships -DogJuiceMan |

Forgive me for not wanting to die on a battlefield, how selfish of me. I've never heard any press regarding the enlist act. We all make choices, if you feel the enlist act is convenient for you, go ahead. Obviously the only reason the bridge act exists is because they don't want to pull the rug from under dreamers. If they pass it once, they'll pass it again. |
