People Protest Arkansas Attorney General’s Decision To End DACA
BENTONVILLE (KFSM) -- Protesters chanted from a busy street in Bentonville, hoping to raise awareness of Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge's decision to end the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals program.
"This is a country that's supposed to have compassion and concern and take in people and help them. I mean that's my idea of what the United States of America is all about and I'd like to think that's the country we still are," protester Harrie Farrow said. Over the course of five years, 800,000 immigrant children have benefited from DACA. The program allows certain undocumented minors to apply for a renewable two-year work permit and deferred deportation. "They were told they had this dream they could become full citizens if they did the right things and many of them are doing that and have been doing that and now its being taken away from them," Farrow said. Protesters left statements for Rutledge to consider with the her representative at the mobile office. http://5newsonline.com/2017/07/06/pe...n-to-end-daca/ I loved the video of the protesters. Very well Spoken and diverse group. |

Saw the video. Very impressed with the diverse crowd. But I saw no more than 15 or 20 protesters. They need a LOT more to make an impact. Trumps rally's attracted tens of thousands.

No one seemed to care about the ORIGINAL dreamers who aged out. We are no different than them. The reality is, the ideological argument with immigration was lost. Even many Democrats oppose the concept. There will be no reforms. Democrats honestly would be way better off if they started changing platform on immigration. I guarantee you, if a Democrat ran an anti immigration campaign, he would win. Reality is reality, people do not like illegal immigration |

I refuse to stop believing.
We still got the ACLU! |

Congress will do shit when they see us suffering. It's very different to give someone something and take it away, then to never have given them anything. Dems and republicans better compromise because they are the ones that need to pass legislation. All this shit Obama got for passing DACA but they haven't past shit in 5 years. Gtfoh

TPS has been in effect for years and it is getting chopped.
|
Re: People Protest Arkansas Attorney General’s Decision To End DACA
One can argue TPS has a different purpose. In our case we know no country other than the USA.
|
Re: People Protest Arkansas Attorney General’s Decision To End DACA
Anyone can argue anything really, what goes on is a totally different thing. Our only hope is that Trump decides to Flip Flop on the issue against his very own supporters for a good cause, his good heart will be tested for real this time. He will alienate a lot of his base if he does. Something that in my mind, he can't afford to do if he plans for a re-run. He will opt for the, get rid of it, then try to pass legislation, we know how that usually goes... Our great negotiator...

It's not a death sentence and it's certainly not a poverty stricken third world country like Haiti or El Salvador. Still, I'd pick living in Uruguay anyday over Mexico though. |

I am liberal at heart but I am just tired and disolusioned. I am fine, but I have younger brothers and what happens to them affects me even more. I don't know where you read I am a Trump supporter, I don't have an IQ of 75... If I have said anything is that Trump is all we have right now... And if we have DACA, it will be because of him. |
