source? that sounds like a good thing imo, because he wont delegate it to his justice dept/jeff sessions.

Trump can just tell the states suing to stand down or ask the justice dept to defend it.

Re: Trump on #DACA

What he is saying is that the decision will get delayed. He is creating the air of mystery, an old tactic. Deep down he wants to keep DACA, but he knows he can use us as bargaining chips. I personally think DACA will stay, and if it doesn't, then congress will act unilaterally. They might throw in pathway to citizenship!

The states suing don't have to listen. He can though ask the justice dept to defend it. Then they'd have to officially come out as saying the WH supports DACA.

If you told me a year ago that Trump would be the most likely person to defend DACA, I would've called you crazy. But yet here we are. Some timeline we living in huh.

Re: Trump on #DACA

good point, but the fact that Trump kept the program for 9 months now in September means its his DACA.

the day obama left and trump took office it became his DACA for keeping it.. thats clearly his position, he just doesnt want to anger his hick ass base.

im still mad at this shit suing over drivers licenses (aka racism.)

Sept 5 will be here soon. Trump cannot delay the decision any longer.

Whatever happens, I just hope they don't end it right there and then. It'd be chaotic though monsters like Sessions don't care. I hope give people few months. Phase it out, allow people to expire, idk.

We all have due process. That in itself can take years. Cheer up!

Re: Trump on #DACA

Anyone want to provide a general timeline of how things will unfold if they do sue on Sept 5? Like when the fight starts, when it will go to court, approximate time an injunction would happen, etc? Thanks.

jaylove16 07-13-2017 05:10 PM

Re: Trump on #DACA

We haven't even heard from our big supporters like Lindsey Graham , Durbin etc. I'm pretty sure there is some behind the scenes workings going on. Remember McConell even made remarks earlier this year that he's willing to help us when it comes down to it? Let them finish and get their Obamacare repeal first . If they are able to get that through , republicans will be in a better mood to help us out .

jaylove16 07-13-2017 05:14 PM

Re: Trump on #DACA

Trump's Homeland Security secretary, John Kelly, had suggested in remarks Wednesday that Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions might make the final decision about the program, known as DACA, if it is challenged in court.

Trump's remarks appeared to suggest that he would not delegate the decision to Sessions.

http://www.latimes.com/politics/wash...htmlstory.html

Trump is a stubborn creature. If he has kept DACA 7 months into his presidency, I doubt he's just going to abandon it easily like that .

legendver2 07-13-2017 05:19 PM

Re: Trump on #DACA

But do we believe Kelly or Trump on this final decision bit?

Got_Daca 07-13-2017 05:21 PM

Re: Trump on #DACA

Trump is NOT flat out planning to destroy DACA.

He is thinking. He is weighing. He is deliberating.

This is good.

ceaguila 07-13-2017 05:22 PM

Re: Trump on #DACA

Crap just send the DOJ of justice to defend it, if Sessions won't do it make Roseitein do it. We all know they hate it, I just want to buy some time. Let it go to the Supreme Court
