Instead, she should have just said without any comprise in a Republican controlled congress passing any slightly pro-immigration legislation wouldn't be possible. Why people are having a tough time understanding this point, this is beyond me.

Its goal is to provide childhood arrivals the opportunity to earn permanent status. Why is that not reasonable according to all of you complaining?

It's a negotiation tactic. They came out extreme demands on the republican side. So you move in the other direction to make them feel like coming to the middle they actually gain/won in some form.

Why can't you have a clean Dream Act and still compromise? You can get a clean Dream Act and still give in to border security, E-Verify or whatever else Republicans want and still include older Dreamers.

No... There is a lot of gray area you're not mentioning. The choice isn't simply either a straight DACA in law form all 11 million people get green cards. The Dream Act is the best compromise in itself.

A dream act with attachments you have provided is technically not a clean Dream Act some people want the so called "clean dream act " basically stand alone nothing attached . Which will never get to the presidents desk . I will be shocked if it does and passes that would be a miracle .

I didn’t pass in 2010 when Democrats has all chambers of Congress. Don’t putt too much faith in democrats like any other politician, all they want is to please their base and get re-elected even if it means not passing any form of legislation.
