Republican leaders Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan declined an invitation from their Democratic counterparts Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to meet without President Trump. Schumer and Pelosi pulled out of the meeting at the White House after Trump tweeted he didn't "see a deal" coming together with them.

"There is a meeting at the White House this afternoon, and if Democrats want to reach an agreement on these issues, they will be there," McConnell and Ryan said in a joint statement.
