Scalise: No guarantee House GOP will consider Senate immigration bill

http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/23/politi....html?adkey=bn

"I think we've been very clear that any final solution has to include funding for a wall and we've been working closely with President Trump on that," he added.
Scalise also ruled out "amnesty," though he wasn't clear on how he defined it and whether it would mean a pathway to citizenship for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, a program that protected young undocumented immigrants who came to the US as children that Trump has decided to end.

Looks like that near-death experience didn't teach him to be a better human being.

Amnesty is defined as "an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offenses". One of the bills that includes funding for the "wall" and other stuff trump asked, plus a path to citizenship within 10 years is something doable. Adding another 3+ million plus parents and relatives will not do well in the house.

Waiting 10+ years to become citizens is not Amnesty. I think the hardliners want to make sure only DACA eligible people benefit from this and not open the door to more people.

Kind a like how Trump granted Amnesty to Sheriff Joe Arpaio? Oh the hypocrisy.

Wtf is wrong with this fool.

He got a second chance in life and the first thing he does with it is "let's screw 800,000 lives"

I think JayZ’s song the Story of OJ sums it up nicely for everyone, especially us. No matter what a dreamer does or accomplish, we’re still illegals.

Thanks for reminding me about that song. About to go blast it on repeat!

So in the case nothing gets done by March 5th, do you really think they’ll kill DACA after the SCOTUS ruling? I’m thankful we can renew but what concerns me is what will happen after. Democrats won’t be able to do anything until 2021 if they win the presidency and senate and manage to keep a majority in the house were they to win it in November.

They will have to do something. The optics of dreamers recording their deportations and posting them all over the web wouldn’t play well.

They wouldn't care, I think they would get a joy at seeing people get deported. It will probably be euphoric.

I don't know if peoples first instinct when ICE is arresting them or their family members will be to record it and post it online. And it'll play well with the GOP base.

schumer got played big time. only a promise from mcconnell so what did trump and ryan promise? nada!! at this rate the best solution possible would be 20 bil for the fully funded wall + end chain + end diversity + limit GC per year = maybe conditional GC

CHIP is funded for six years.

When Feb. 8 comes, it will not be "sick American kids" vs. DACA.

Come Feb.8 it'll be 'Disaster funding for Puerto Rico' v. 'DACA'
