Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
I can say almost guarantee all congressional leaders will not vote against the debt ceiling because it would be worse than a shutdown. It impacts the whole economy and livelihoods of the American people.

Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Guys, we need to pressure Flake's office and make this shit renewable.
Trump is the wildcard here. |
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
If they're going to pass something through Congress, it might as well be something permanent, not some temporary extension bullshit. It should be what Trump and Schumer had already agreed to, a pathway to citizenship with full border security funding.

Their freaken ego is the problem. Both sides want to fix the problem but only if they get the credit. Pretty shameful.
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
We don't want an extension we want permanent one. But since we are not the one submitting the bills we've got no choice but to accept what they offer. I really hope Flake changes the extension to a permanent one. Maybe DACA to LPR for the time being?? Forget about citizenship until Trump leaves office.

Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Another chance for republicans to embarrass Chuck S.
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Democrats offered $25 billion, much much more thsn the White House needs for the wall in exchange for the Dream Act.
The White House says we take your offer because is good, but we want to take our offer back and only help much much fewer people. So the Democrats offer is awesome - so much so that Republicans are demanding to waste the $25 billion dollars of taxpayer money but as the moral trash that they are, they want to take Dream Act off the table. Nope. Democrats need to say 'You made a deal; we were generous and you'll have to hold your end of the bargain". Force them. They have a shitstorm coming with Daca, gun reform, health care, etc. There is no excuse for them not to protect all Dreamers. They need to resubmit their bills for a vote. |
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Another shutdown? What a joke, lol.
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
So, in other words, Trump wants $25 Billion to give us back what he took from us in the first place?!
Now, that’s the “worse deal in history”... No thanks, you can keep you shitty deal and shove it where the sun don’t shine! |
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Why Dems so quiet on USA ACT?
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress

Then you would have to stop calling yourselves Dreamers. The name is not an issue.

Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Senator Durbin is tweeting again on DA.
Offer a mix of Collins bill, DA, and attach it to the omnibus. |
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
I don’t see them shutting down the government for us again. Especially with the omnibus, they wouldn’t want to mess around with the budget deal the leaders came to agree on.

Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Got to cover aged out Dreamers.
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Democrats gave trump a proposal as early as September 2017. Trump rejected it and now wants the money in exchange to give back what he took in the first place ? No republican in congress even wanted any of the shit Trump proposal asked for.
Republicans in the house have a bill that has the support its needs so why doesn't Ryan put it up for vote |

Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
No, it's not a poison pill. All Dreamers, especially the ones who have lived here the longest, gone to school, worked, and now have families SHOULD be included.
There were no poison pills on last week's debate. Each side was getting something they wanted. Btw, the Washington Post has a report today about Melania Trump sponsoring her parents thanks to 'chain migration'. The White House considers not banning relatives from migrating legally a 'poison pill'. What a bunch of hypocrites. |

Age out dreamers have paid more taxes and have more at stake here than you, dreamers are dreamers, if you don't see it that way you are part of the problem. |

It's not really a poison pill. The poison pill would be granting some sort of legalizing measure for our parents. Even though most of us don't blame our parents for bringing us here , the government does. |

Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
"your choice?"
lol our words dont mean shit. we will get whatever they want to pass or not pass for us. |
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Sadly DACA hasn't been mentioned in the media like it was before what happened in Florida.
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Maybe this is slightly off-topic, but isnt it incredible that citizens supporting the GOP actually want $25 billion wasted on a wall that will probably never directly impact or improve their lives in any way. Instead of putting that to education programs, infrastructure, etc
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Seeing how Democrats will never give up chain migration, the only chance we have is perm DACA or 600k ppl in exchange for the wall
|
Re: Coming soon: Another showdown over Dreamers in Congress
Wake up and smell the coffee people, a permanent fix is not happening! March 23 is our last hope to get a legislative extension on DACA. Those of us around here long enough knew that this would be the end game. They would try for a permanent fix, fail and the backup would be a BRIDGE Act kind extension. They all damn well knew this is what would happen:
