Manchin becomes final Democrat to back bill preventing separation of immigrant famili
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said on Monday that he will back legislation to prevent the separation of immigrant families along the border, solidifying Democratic support for the bill.
Manchin's decision means all 49 members of the Democratic caucus, which includes independent Sens. Bernie Sanders (Vt.) and Angus King (Maine), are signing on to the legislation. Manchin added on Monday that the United States needs to "secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws" and that he's talking with GOP lawmakers about broader legislation. "I am actively working with my Republican colleagues to find solutions to the issues that are not addressed" in Feinstein's bill, he said. "I continue to believe that the comprehensive 2013 immigration bill that included 700 miles of fencing, an addition 20,000 border control agents and other measures to secure our border is where we should begin this process." http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-actio...ing-separation |

Feinstein bill is for the detained children only, but it's probably going to get rolled up with DACA/Wall bills.

Regarding family separation at the border, senior House GOP source tells NBC News, this will be addressed in both the Goodlatte bill and the compromise immigration bill (1/3) |

Seriously build the wall and step up enforcement. I do not want anymore families to go through what I’m going through or what these kids at the border are going through. It needs to stop.

Why are they calling the bill in the house a “compromise” bill? There is zero Democrat input, which is why there is no support. I guess it’s a compromise between the republican freedom caucus and the moderate republicans.

Just pass anything that prevent us from being deported really. Our strategy should be, basically, getting any kind of protection that allow us to outlast this administration.

Re: Manchin becomes final Democrat to back bill preventing separation of immigrant fa
how tf would the Senate Democratic caucus elect Joe Manchin, a "democrat" from West Virginia to be Senate Majority/Minority leader?
