Statement on DC court DACA case filing

FWD.us Statement on the Recent DC Court DACA Filing
WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us President Todd Schulte issued the following statement today on the decision by DC plaintiffs not to oppose DoJ’s request for a temporary stay on processing new DACA applications:

“The decision made tonight by Maria De La Cruz Perales Sanchez, a DACA recipient, Microsoft, Princeton University, the United Food and Commercial Workers, the American Federation of Teachers and the NAACP not to oppose DoJ’s request for a temporary stay on processing new DACA applications, while the D.C. federal court decision is on appeal, is the right choice and will help further protect current DACA recipients. Thanks to the brave plaintiffs like those represented in this case, DACA renewals have continued throughout this year. Unfortunately, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Administration officials will stop at nothing to terminate DACA and were attempting to use the DC court ruling to try to end all DACA protections immediately. We are thankful for the smart legal decision made today.

“Further, now that the DC plaintiffs have agreed not to oppose the DOJ stay request on the issuance of new DACA applications and advanced parole, AG Paxton should immediately drop his lawsuit filed in Brownsville, Texas. Texas has repeatedly said that the reason it filed that lawsuit, and the reason it needs immediate relief, is the supposed impact on the State of Texas of grants of DACA status to new applicants. Given this decision by the DC plaintiffs, which likely will result in the issuance of the limited stay by Judge Bates in DC, Texas has no reason to continue their lawsuit. Refusing to end the case after today’s actions in DC circuit court is clear evidence that AG Paxton’s only real motivation is a determination to see young dreamers ripped from their families and communities and deported to countries most have never known.”

Oh hey that’s a pretty neat argument so hopefully Hanen takes it into consideration

This is brave. Lots of legalese but basically, a DACA recipient & @Microsoft @Princeton put their (noble, righteous, winning) lawsuit on hold to give more time to other DACA recipients to renew. Meanwhile cowards @KenPaxtonTX @jeffsessions doing everything they can to end program

That's a lot of legalese.

Legal system is broken if you have a situation called legalese.

Senate is back in session. Appropriations and budget negotiations are back on the table, including 5B for the wall that were approved by the House last week. Start taking action again - Dems can negotiate a deal.

Basically no new DACA recipients. Only us that already have it can renew. Texas should drop it’s lawsuit. Am I reading this right?

Yes, and no AP.

@TheToddSchulte IMPT-Dear 4th Estate: TX & 6 states suing said they were trying to end injunctions that allow DACA ONLY to stop new filings. The DC plaintiffs are ok for partial stay on this for now. This means by AG Paxton & DOJ's own logic, they should DROP their suit.

I was plugged in to a good audiobook this morning. There was a good quote that stood out and puts things in perspective. I am paraphrasing, but it went something like:

"There are people out there that wish they had your problems." Boooom.

AP may not come back, no worries, but there are Dreamers out there that are waiting for the opportunity to submit their initial DACA application. For whatever reason, they are in that position and I sympathize with you brothers and sisters. My problems are minute, compared to where you stand.

Hang in there.

That is true. We should be thankful for what little we have.

I wish I had Trump's problems of being unable to kill DACA, having to deal with an icy cold wifey. When they are icy cold that means they are freaks in the sheets.

True. And there are people out there who for some reason or another can’t legalize through marriage and become citizens.

I really like FWD's statement. It's pragmatic, and recognizes the political and legal reality.

It's a different approach than what we have seen from organizations like UWD who do nothing but take extreme positions and prevent any progress from ever being made.

UWD and anyone who has ever donated to them, even by mistake, should be deported extra rapido so they can stop stonewalling immigration relief with their large loud obnoxious gorilla like mouths.

Go ask for TPS in mexico you beaners, they'll show you TPS relief lies just around the corner of tu puta madre avenue and la chingada street.

UWD has a platform to ask for immigration relief, but they ruin it by painting us as obnoxious entitled ignorant loudmouthed beaners. UH NO THANKS, I am a professional in the software world.

They tie us to the sinking boulder known as TPS, most of the voting public hates TPS with a burning passion.

Lets just get to the truth, without us and without our unfortunate TPS brethern, they might have to get jobs, and stop activism for money. *GASP* they might have to wake up early! Their schedules will prevent them from organizing for degenerate free love! How will they mobilize if they have to go to work! They wont be able to bundle immigration relief with LGBT! *GASP* why not bundle it all in a huge unpassable bill of communism, immigration relief, tps relief, free college, free healthcare, public transportation to nowhere, free everything.

Let us face the facts, UWD should be eliminated from the poltical area by clean methods only. Debate them so hard, debate them on facebook, tie up their phone lines demanding them to quit fucking it up for everyone. No thanks to them we would've been permanent residents 3 years ago.

Clean methods only!!!!! We are better than they are with their low IQ tactics. No screaming on a megaphone at people wont help. No yelling in money witch pelosi's face wont help. No acting like entitled spoiled bratty children wont help. No being ignorant wont help.

FWD seems to be the kind of people someone else told me to like, so I have yet to investigate.

Jeez man. I dislike UWD as well but chill...I'm glad you're doing well for yourself in the software industry. But no need to differentiate yourself from "beaners." We are all out here trying to make a living.

Relax man, you can be on top of the world one day and homeless the next day. That is just how life can be. Don't burden yourself with bad karma by making these types of comments.
