Stephen Miller Secretly Plans to Make Immigration Ban Permanent
Stephen Miller told WH supporters in a private call this week that Trump’s new executive order curbing immigration will usher in broader long-term changes he has advocated for years, even though the 60-day measures were publicly characterized as a “pause”
Miller said subsequent measures would restrict guest worker programs: “the most important thing is to turn off the faucet of new immigrant labor,” he said. Miller indicated that the strategy is part of a long-term vision and not only a stopgap. https://twitter.com/natashabertrand/...064947714?s=21 Wait for the lawsuits when this fool is openly saying they will make it permanent. |

Takes any value DACA has a bargaining chip away until after the elections.

Re: Stephen Miller Secretly Plans to Make Immigration Ban Permanent
I said this in another thread, but as long as white supremacist enthusiast Stephen Miller is the mastermind behind Trump's immigration policy, DACA has no hope if left in the hands of Trump.

Re: Stephen Miller Secretly Plans to Make Immigration Ban Permanent
Biden is not a good candidate. Now the Republicans are going after for him sexual assault like Trump doesn’t have 25 sexual assault claims against him . There’s a Larry King video from the 90s going around that shows the mother of Biden’s accuser calling and asking what to do about her daughter and her problems with a Senator (Biden). Democrats are asking him to drop out. I think he should drop out also. He also is very clearly going senile. If Democrats want a chance to beat Trump, Biden should NOT be the candidate.

Re: Stephen Miller Secretly Plans to Make Immigration Ban Permanent
Lamestream media, the University ivory tower, big pharma, big health, and big industry are all to blame why our country is so assfucked from this Coronavirus.
Lamestream media is slicing and dicing the president's statements whatever way they see fit to get big headlines to drive click revenue up, and trying to make a big hubbub about nothing. Now the media is heavily partisan instead of unbiased and neutral. Neutral reporting is now exciting and a thought-crime. University ivory towers indoctrinate a victim mentality into people, instead of the fierce individualism and liberty that this nation was built upon. You'll find free speech a dangerous idea in the proto-communist Marxist-socialist halls of learning. This country is where anyone can reach their god-given heights provided they keep up the good fight. In addition"Universities" saddle them with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for what is essentially a glorified party with some minor learning thrown in to technically quality as a university. Now they can't afford to start their lives properly because of massive debt. Big pharma poisons people with their poorly tested and dangerous medicines and medical devices. Whatever happened to do no harm? What about all the drugs when they enter water streams? But NOPE you can't have weed NOPE. Have our legalized heroin instead! 50% more addictive. Now we have a full blown opiate problem in our fine nation. Big health costs too much cause dumbass republicans dont want to spend a tiny amount for healthcare for all. Keep the republican footsoldiers sick and they'll keep voting red. It's those damn illegals using up all the healthcare. Sneaking in across from Mexico and using up all the healthcare. Keep low educational standards and they won't question the central tenets of the red party because they'll be too dumb to figure it all out. Except a few on both sides of the coin have pulled off the blindfold. Big industry takes full advantage of the free market to climb up and gain majority market shares, but once they are fully entrenched they will use their financial power to influence government to extend to them a legal monopoly and bar new entrants from upsetting their bottom line. They packed up all the factories and sent them to far east dumpster fires in inhumane factories. We pay the price with low manufacturing capabilities while they reap all the benefits. If there is an economic downturn they are too big to fail cause all these jobs depend on them. :) Privatize the profit. Socialize the loss. This virus is a massive correction to our sick, degenerate, and fundamentally unstable world. The virus only accelerated things. Put certain conditions in play. Once the world has healed, there will be hard questions asked and answered. |

Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the viewer to recognize which news sources have more credibility than others. It's like going to Costco and choosing a case of water over a case of soda, despite the soda coming in appetizing flavors and colorful packaging, the water is better for you and you have to conscientiously make that choice. Quote:
I want to make clear that getting a single medicine to market is an extremely costly endeavour. At the very onset, thousands of chemical compounds are screened through numerous in vitro and in vivo tests, and once a single compound is optimized it goes on to a much more rigorous stage of drug development under FDA guidelines to determine formulation, efficacy and safety before this compound can even be tested in humans during clinical trials. Most compounds don't even make it to clinical trials because they can't pass this testing. Out of the few compounds that do make it to clinical trials, even fewer make it through (either the compound just doesn't work as well in humans as it did in animal models or has serious side effects) to actually get FDA approval and become a medicine From start to end, the process of trying to make a single medicine takes anywhere from 8-12 years on average, with the bulk of that being efficacy and safety testing, and with MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars poured in. And again I want to emphasize that the majority of the time these compounds fail and nothing comes out of them. A pharmaceutical company can start with 10 projects and 12 years later will be very lucky if it can get a medicinal product out of 1 or even 2 of those. So you can see why a medicine will be costly as soon as it hits the market and for as long as it is under patent. It is a balancing act between trying to make a profit to fund very costly drug development research and affordability so ill people can get the treatment they need. How much companies tip the balance which way is where the problems arise. Obviously there will be some sketchy companies that will be more motivated by profit and price gouge the shit out of a medicine with disregard to the patients (see pharma douche Martin Shkreli and Turing Pharmaceuticals). Others will have a medicine that that is highly sought and thus crank the price up (see EpiPen, although for this one, epinephrine is not a novel medicine but the injector pen is a novel form of delivery). And then we have the opioid drug makers, particularly Purdue Pharma. As I said, once a medicine is approved for market by the FDA, a company has to continue monitoring it to see if any adverse effects arise that were not seen in clinical trials. This is where Purdue Pharma got greedy and dropped the ball. They continued to aggressively peddle opioid painkillers while failing to address the high addiction rates. And lastly, I want to address your point about drugs hitting the water streams. Pharmaceutical companies operate under the rules they are given by the FDA and are only required to identify the method of metabolism and excretion of a medicine out of a person's body. Whatever happens after that is an environmental issue that does not fall under their responsibility. Should it? I dunno, that's a complex issue. Just bear in mind the long time frame and high cost already of developing a medicine; if environmental mitigation is added on there, you bet your pants that's going to make it even worse and ultimately the consumers will be paying the price. And that concludes my lengthy essay. Hope you've enjoyed it. |
