Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

It looks like Biden's actual intentions for immigration are starting to show.

They are also serious about passing something by EOY even if its not CIR.
Good new for dreamers at least

Re: Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

GOOD JOB JOEY! He is the only one I have full trust on. With will and power, he can persuade his Dem caucus and bring a few Reps on Board. A piecemeal approach with prioritizing Dreamers and Border Security first is the best way forward for broader reform!

A massive Dreamer legalization deal is imminent. For first time in 20 years here, I actually see very bright prospects for Dreamers to get conditional green cards this year. It will be a phenomenal deal if Joey persists and pushes back to the far left and far right and maintains a compromise driven approach.

was just about to say that. maybe the fact that he can't run for re-election means he actually wants to get stuff done. who knows.

Why can’t he run for re-election

Re: Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

Important Detail:

That’s because those advocates are eyeing a ticking clock: Bills that were passed last Congress can be moved to the floor directly without having to go through committee if they are voted on before April 1. If brought to the floor before the deadline, certain bills, such as those providing a pathway for so-called Dreamers, temporary protective status holders and Deferred Enforced Departure holders from war- and disaster-ravaged countries could move through the House more quickly.

Have there been more conversations since the inauguration or are we just letting our imagination run wild?

Re: Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

There has according to the NJ Senator. I think its kept under wraps to keep the right-wing from attacking it. Last thing we need is for trump and miller to kill a bill before anything gets rolling.

I'm happy President Biden is not an all or nothing type.

Now it's time for Durbin to open talks with GOP moderates.

I read Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) wants to get more agricultural visas for her state.

The time to make a deal is this year.

Preferably before Summer

A Republican will most likely be elected in 2024.

Its called the political pendulum.

Voters will get tired of Biden and Dems left wing policies.

So Biden needs this for his legacy.

Re: Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

If Dems can get a major bill passes I think they have a good shot at maintaining the house and the senate in 2022.. Jobs+ stimulus check+successfully roll the vaccine = positive 2022 for dems.

Most reasonable people are looking for results.

Biden will release another bill regarding infrastructure and most likely student debt in Feb. Dems will just wait and roll both bills up and pass it with budget reconciliation. You cannot bank on historical trends in unprecedented times so it is very possible to keep house, senate, and wh. Its all up to the dems.

biden said he was only going to be a 1 term president during the campaign. he just wants to fix the damages done by trump and then spend time with family.

This is the way. We need to move fast. Get DACA done first.

Trump will win in 2024 like he did in 2020.

True. Trump will also win 2028 by re-writing the law.

Trump will live until 3024 by taking hydroxychloroquine that cures all illnesses.

If u don't agree, then u r fraud, unconstitutional & reptilian ppl

Re: Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

lol trump is the ultimate Dem villain, if he run in 2024, that will absolutely fire up the Dem base. Libs hate trump more than they like democrats. That is not to say a republican cannot win 2024. If Dems flop, as Dems do often, then that leave the door wide open. 2022 and 2024 is all up the Dems, if they shit the bed, then no excuses.

Also trump may just run for the money, with 0 intentions of actually winning... like in 2016

I think he will end up running for re-election, the damage done by trump will not be fixed in one terms.

Trump running in 2024 would be a nightmare for elite Republicans. He will lose again.

I think he will be too old by then. Very high chance he will keep his promise of being a one term president. He just needs a good successor on the Democrat side. Need someone with charisma and intelligence. I honestly didn't like any of the 2020 Democratic candidate. Hope a new rising star comes out in next 4 years.

Agree, he will be 79 that time, I doubt he will have enough strength to run another term again.

there's no such thing as GOP moderates.

scrap filibuster
DC, PR statehood
voter reform
pack the court

let's go!

Re: Biden open to splitting up immigration bill

We would have to look at their campaign finances and donation for Q1 but I suspect some of the support is to win back donors from corporate America. Daca is very popular among companies. That is one possibility.
