New applicants with Bios appointment are being turned down by USCIS. It sucks, they should at least get a refund.

If they are skipping BIOs then everyone should get a partial refund. Part of the 495 we pay includes bio and ead.

Shit like this is why nothing will ever get done. The objective there is not to get anything done, but to send a message. GTFO.

Either Padilla knows that 50 votes aren’t there, or he simply can’t guarantee how the moderate Dems will vote at this point. We will know this week.

If Congress does not pass anything this year for DACA, the Supreme Court would probably cancel DACA in 2022/2023.

Judging by what you said, this would probably mean that all submitted renewals would go unprocessed at that time. After that with the House probably and the Senate possibly lost in 2022, it's looking pretty bleak.

I think this is more a reference to what the parliament will say about including immigration. If it isn’t allowed and Dems don’t fight it then we need GOP votes and it is highest unlikely we can get to 60.

Biden says it's "up to the Parliamentarian to decide" whether a pathway to citizenship under DACA should be part of budget bill used for infrastructure

They won't be legalizing people currently in the shadows, so it's not immigration reform technically.

Instead, it is a compassionate solution for people whose status is in limbo.

Those are two different things in my opinion.

If it gets included, get ready to hear "amnesty for illegals" left and right. You know how the whole thing goes.

That’s code for “hey we will pretend to try but only to win us more Hispanic votes, don’t expect a DACA solution”

If Dems played like Republicans, we'd be on the road to a green card right now... and then some.

Same. We just have to see what comes of their meetings with her this week. I read that the Dems have been working with her.

I'm not sure why they can't just levy a fee and use it to offset the cost of the infrastructure bill.

Exactly! Trump and his administration didn’t care about playing fair, they went to the extremes and explored every possible measure to please their own anti-immigration base.

Biden needs to do the same and fulfill his own promises to his own base. There is no excuse for him not to be aggressive. This may be our only chance for years to come. 2022 and 2024 isn’t promised.

She started as a trial attorney for the DOJ handling immigration cases in new jersey.

Politically it says she is independent

This is all on her wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_MacDonough

Durbin voices support for an expansive pathway to citizenship provision in the Democrats' reconciliation bill - going beyond focusing strictly on DACA recipients.

"I hope it goes bigger,” he said. Durbin conceded it’s still not known if it meets Senate's strict budget rules.

Business as usual Joe Biden. What a load of horseshit, the parliamentary has exactly zero power if the dems will it so. So much for "human infrastructure".

After, watching above video, looks like Parliamentarian does not have any power, D really don't want anything to pass, instead they basically wants to blame her and say to there base look we tried but Parliamentarian shot it down.
