Then I am 3 years away from green card eligibility from parent’s petition. The sad thing is I am considering going back. Timing is never on my side. I wish this is 2020 already so we are a few months away from the result.

Son of bitch has the upper hand winning, Stephen Miller ain’t going anyway, and Democrats most likely won’t pull another govt shutdown this year. So say bye to any chance of DACA solution.

On another note, I don't know why Enterprise gets disrespected by the Trekkies. Sure it's no TNG or DS9 but it's a lot better than Voyager. Come on, it deserved more than 4 seasons!

Trump is probably the best thing that has happened to most immigrants tbh..

We got closer than ever to a solution thanks to him.
Probably SC will strike down DACA and he will use an executive action to save us and claim the latino vote.
Deportations are actually LOWER than previous presidency.
Wall was just a show, didnt even get built.
Only using scare tactics with no action.

I am not saying I don’t “appreciate” the rescind of DACA. It woke everyone up. But the fact Stephen Miller is in power concerns me, and Trump, like I said. Has the upper hand. No one is going to change shit and we are sandwiched for god knows how many more years. Everyone pulls a stun.

However, I don't think another executive action is my preferred outcome. I'd like to see a border deal with green card program. I actually don't care and don't really mind having a border wall.

Like it or not Trump WILL get re-elected its impossible for a democrat to win.

I lurk quite a bit in both spectrums of the political scene to get a better idea of what is going to happen, even though things like the wall isnt happening as promised, the economy is doing good despite the fear of recession(we will have a recession soon but it wont be as bad if Trump is in charge compared to any democrat)

Conservatives are pretty sympathetic towards us believe it or not, due to the fact that the vast majority of us are assimilated to this country compared to the rest of the immigrant groups.

All Stephen miller is doing is fucking up deals, Trump is probably aware of that but cant get rid of him now because it would trigger the ultra conservatives, its better to have no deal done on a topic than to have one and fuck everything up.

There is a deal to be had. Just not during our life time. Like I said, whoever gets me a green card I will pray for him and praise him/her as the hero of the DACA community.

The one constant painful lesson that I've learned over the years is that as bad as things are, they can get much much worse. I've also been in some seemingly hopeless situations and in constant danger and somehow still managed to be here and navigate through it so there is some pride in being strong enough to make it through this.

It can drive you insane if you think too far in the future and how much worse than this it can get so you can't dwell too much or you'll die of anxiety and then what good will that do? If I can play therapist for a minute, you have to acknowledge the situation you're in right now, make any plans that are within your power, but don't dwell on it. Certainly don't do anything destructive like excessive drinking or worse, drinking while driving, etc. Self care is the most important thing all of us can do right now.

You can also take some comfort in knowing that throughout history, many groups of people have been in similar if not more hopeless situations than us and made it out ok. Sometimes, it was even sooner than they expected.

The way I look at it is if Trump wins I’m out within 6 to 8 months. That’s the easy part. My decision is already made.

My biggest nightmare is if the Dems win I stay and they once again don’t do shit.

I was gonna leave in 2008 but I let myself be convince by family and the “hope and change” administration ( where reform always seemed around the corner) to stay.

Our best hope is Miller suddenly have a heart attack and died. He needs to fuck himself with a hair spray up his ass. I hope these DMs are not spineless. They don't know what the heck they are doing. They are supposed to be united but look at this whole AOC vs leadership shit show ?(btw, AOC needs to calm the fuck down, moderates don't like her).

I hope Trump pulls another border wall stun this year. We need to keep our issues relevant, not this man-made invented border crisis.
