Now, if Congress won’t pass my plan – let’s at least pass what we agree on. Congress needs to pass legislation this year to finally secure protection for the Dreamers – the young people who have only known America as their home. And, permanent protections for immigrants on temporary protected status who come from countries beset by man–made and natural made violence and disaster. As well as a pathway to citizenship for farmworkers who put food on our tables.

His pick of Ed Gonzalez to head ICE is also very good since he was very outspoken of Trump's policies. I've actually casually met him a few times during various events so it seems kind of weird that he'd be in charge.

Democrats held a senate/house majority in Obama years and NEVER bothered to pass the DREAM ACT. Trump offered Dream Act in exchange for the WALL (which was built anyways) and Democrats refused to bargain. Democrats refuse to even bring up Dream Act/border security for a vote in the Senate 4/2021. Democrats are the ones holding Dreamers in captivity.

Lol, I’m getting Obama flashbacks where we were supposed to get legalized any minute but in the end stupid DACA was all he could muster up. Stupid DACA that discriminated against older dreamers for god knows what reason.

I’m thinking I’ll be staying till midterms and when the dems get destroyed in the midterms after screaming more stupid shit like “defund the police” I’m out. All I really wanted all this time was the removal of the 3/10 yr ban so I could visit but as I get older even this seems less and less important as friends grow their families and we have less time to spend together.

Lol Biden was clever with his promises on immigration. He said in his first 100 days, he will send a bill to congress. He never agreed to pass anything... That I why I was sceptical that anything would happen before summer, if it happens at all.

I believe that Democrats will devote more energy to immigration and the border now because that is their biggest weakness going into midterms.

Politicians are NOT in the government to solve crisis. They are there to do whatever it takes to stay in power and make a lot of money. They don't give a fuck about DACA people, they don't care if dreamers get deported. The bad news now is that the GOPs are so far to the right, whoever give "Amesty" to illegal alien (aka dreamers) will be primary by their party. Ain't no GOP in the senate want to risk that.

Yes and big time immigrant orgs are in the business of collecting donations at the expense of misery and fear of immigrants. They can’t afford for any solutions to pass. They need status quo and chaos. That is part of their business strategy to ensure strong operations and cash flow. Expect stiff opposition from them!
