Respect your opinion - it's just a petition. So, no worries if you don't want to sign it. However, in response to you, I believe immigration checkpoints are a great idea. It acts as a great deterrent for future DACA-like situation where a child is allowed to enroll in schools and spend all their formative lives before facing an immigration problem. Having an immigration checkpoint, let's say at kindergarten, will prevent that child to live in a country under the shadows. It's preventing an immigration crisis from becoming a humanitarian one.

Second, I understand the sensitivity around the word "illegal". But let's not get caught up in the semantics. I said illegal workers (not illegals or illegal aliens). Workers who work without work authorization are working illegally. There is nothing derogatory about it.

Undocumented would be a better term.

I agree, Dog.

I would never sign anything that calls for sanctioning employers who allow people to earn a fair living regardless of their status.
