Puerto Rico vacation
I heard a few of you have been to Puerto Rico without problems, so I am planning to visit next summer. However, I keep reading that Culebra island is a must visit location, but it is located off Puerto Rico, but still belongs to the U.S. Has anyone visited this island while in PR? I am afraid to accidentally leave the U.S lol

Dude - WARNING. Avoid this shit hole Chinese restaurant (Mandarin House) in Condado across from Casino del Mar. Here's a picture of me, my wife, and my boy flipping it off after they conned us. Overpriced, shitty food, and in typical Chinese fashion, they nickel and dime you. Fuck this place to oblivion. I wouldn't be surprised if the meat came from the stray dogs after the hurricane. Pinche gente puerca animales chinos hijos de su puta madre. Oh rook! Custamas. O herro, u rike shitty food? U at the light prace hehehe https://i.ibb.co/b5XNw1w/27935466078-956cd41197-c.jpg |
Re: Puerto Rico vacation
Did you guys get a car rental while there? I read driving is pretty bad in PR, so I was thinking of mobilizing via uber/cabs

We did rent a car. Ubers weren't expensive. Assuming you're staying near San Juan and If you want to go to Vieques or Culebra, you will need to get some kind of transportation arranged if you're not renting a car. It's about an hour drive. Having a car will give you the chance to see El Yunque forest (which we didn't - it was closed when we were there due to the recent hurricane at the time) and explore other parts of the island. Get ready to hear everyone talk like the lady from Caso Cerrado my dude. Hella funny. Oh ya, forgot to add. If you rent a car, be prepared to have the insurance pushed on you like crazy. I still opted to go without it. They will try very hard to convince you. Don't fall for their bs. |
Re: Puerto Rico vacation
I'm leaving for PR tomorrow for 6 days and have booked an excursion to Culebra. Will update.

Apparently 2/3 of Puerto Rico has no electricity due to the earthquake - how is it over there Crest?

Re: Puerto Rico vacation
Do you guys think it will still be worth visiting PR after the earthquakes? I was planning on going towards the end of May

Re: Puerto Rico vacation
Looks like the little dude lost all forms of communication. Puerto Rico really is a dumpster, if it can't even keep the lights on.
America isn't measured by it's peak, but by the valleys. First world with significant third world attributes like dangerous tap water, high crime, political corruption, legalized bribes, high cost healthcare leading to people dying on the streets, ridiculous gun control where only the elites get the best guns, high educational debt, low opportunity. |

For selfish reasons and while I remain a wetback illegal, I say keep Puerto Rico a US territory so I can visit. Now removing my ego from this, I really do think Puerto Rico should be its own sovereign nation. Puerto Rico gets the back burner when shit like this happens and the territory has no voting power, in the sense that they don't send representatives to congress, so they can voice their concerns. Then again, we know ALL politicians are corrupt and put their own interest above their constituents. You can get all woo woo with me if you want and defend your representative but you're turning a blind eye to reality. Anyway, I think Puerto Rico should be free. In fact, I think Hawaii should be free of US influence. Being about 4,826 miles from Washington DC or 2,392 from San Francisco, what business does Washington have dictating how the people of Hawaii should live their lives? The answer is simple --- the US uses the islands as a militarily strategic region -- nothing more. I am 100% behind the Hawaiian sovereignty movement https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...eignty.svg.png Past, Present, and Politics: A Look at the Native Hawaiian Sovereignty Movement https://digital.lib.washington.edu/r...ndle/1773/2262 In fact, why not let the Southern USA be their own country AKA the Confederate States, AKA Hick town USA Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Pan Handle Florida, Arkansas, The Carolinas (Sorry DJM - you would have to adapt to screwing your sisters and brothers if you swing that way), Missouri, Virginia, and territories of the Arizona/New Mexico. They would have destroyed themselves anyway with their inbreeding, gun loving, BBQ loving obese and diabetes ridden life style. If the US didn't make the mistake to re-unite the Union, we wouldn't have a Nativist in chief right now. We wouldn't have the Moscow Mitches pushing Russian propaganda to the decent people of the US, the Tom Cottons, the Thom Tilliseseseses, the Lindsey Leningrad young boy molesting representatives we have now. See there is the rabbit hole we just dove head first into that I said we wouldnt wanna dive into mr DJM. Now don't get me started with Alaska. |

Puerto Rico cannot be a sovereign nation at this point because 100% of them are US citizens, and their citizenship would have to be revoked to turn the island lose. Instead, what should happen is they should become a State just like Hawaii. Guam and various other inhabited territory islands should gain statehood so they can finally have the support they need from their government. Guamanians arent even US citizens, but US nationals, making them some sort of off-brand American. Its like a permanent irrevocable green card. |
Re: Puerto Rico vacation
Got back on Wednesday. Everything was smooth at the airport. Our AirBnB didn't have electricity the first night but we were refunded in full and got another one that was even better.
With the earthquakes, we were staying at the opposite end of the country. We only felt one of them for a couple of seconds. Pretty good trip overall. Trip to Culebra got cancelled unfortunately due to the weather. |
