It would be a good idea to put a new thread called "Local Action" or something similar. Let there be 50 posts max (each state will be a post). So if I live in Illinois and hear about a march or demonstration, rally, meeting, gathering, etc I can post it under Illinois That way other members from Illinois can know what's going on by them.

I think it'll help spread the word and DREAMers who want to join the cause but don't know how, can search the posts for action near them. Or they can also suggest something and see if they can make it happen.

Each post could have a sticky at the top where members can sign in as being from that state. I think it'll help us feel more united. Knowing that there are others near us. Might even help start new friendships.

But hey, I'm just a member. The DREAM Act might not apply to me when it passes (because, unfortunately, time does not stand still & I am getting older). But I'll be (even more) damned if I let my younger DREAMers go through what I've been thru in my 28 years of limbo..... So very very close to 29 :(

Actually you can ALREADY do this on the site using the national calendar. Anybody can post events here, and then random visitors and members can find them using a zipcode.

Believe it or not, this was one of my primary reasons for building the new site. I just wish I had more time to promote these tools... Check out the Advocacy section, there is a considerable amount of stuff there.
