New Co-Sponsors

According to thomas.loc.gov, the Congress' website where you can track bills, as of Tuesday, March 31st, nice Senators have been added to the Senate version of the DREAM act, S. 729.

Here is the list:

Dianne Fienstein, D-CA
Barbara Boxer, D-CA

Jeff Bingaman, D-NM

Chris Dodd, D-CT

John Kerry, D-MA

Robert Menendez, D-NJ

Patty Murray, D-WA

Bill Nelson, D-FL

Sheldon Whitehouse, D-RI

So far, we only have two Republican co-sponsors.

We need to contact Sen. Brownback to co-sponsor so it is more bipartisan the list. Also, let's contact Sen. Hatch, and Sen. Bennet, both from Utah. Also, Collin, Snowe, Crapo, and yes, McCain

We need to have a weekly target. For example, this week, I say we should call Sen. Grassley from Iowa.

Glad to see both of my Senators on board!

A weekly target would be nice. Something like a swarming of a certain Senator's office one week, and another the next week (or maybe every 1.5 or 2 weeks?) to get them to cosponsor DREAM or at least come on record as supporting it.

Re: New Co-Sponsors

Well, judging from what i can see, and from the past, we have plenty of time, but we need to move fast.

I say that we can tackle two Senators at the same time.

One must be a senator that we know is a supporter, but having his/her name on the list gives us more power/credibility.

The other one would be the senator that falls in the undecided/changed votes/new/or now position held.

OKay, so who do we start for this week?

If you start this week, we must must MUST do this!

I need help

I can get all the offices info and post them here.

Re: New Co-Sponsors

Let's start with Sen. Casey from Pennsylvania. He was a co-sponsor in 2007, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get him to co-sponsor this time around.

Leave messages and call tomorrow, please!
