Instate tuition on the horizon for Mass. undocumented students?

Lawmakers revisiting whether to allow instate tuition for illegal residents.

'Nearly three years after Massachusetts House lawmakers soundly rejected a bill that would have allowed illegal immigrants to attend college at in-state tuition rates, lawmakers are preparing to revisit the issue.

Activists say 10 other states, some dominated by conservative lawmakers, have passed legislation with bipartisan support, and advocates see no reason why Massachusetts, a state controlled by Democrats, can't do the same.'

Great news. Hope it can pass for Mass. residents.

The governor's remarks came at the State House unveiling of a report with 131 recommendations on ways to improve the lives of immigrants, who make up 14 percent of the state's population. The recommendations include expanded English classes and job training for any immigrant who needs them. But the report also urged him to push for two controversial steps: extending in-state tuition at public colleges and driver's licenses for immigrants here illegally.

They will allow people everything as long as they need us.

In-state tuiton is the same as anybody else, by denying it they are only trying to rip more money off us, but it back fires because we cant afford it so they need to be smart.

In Uruguay (Latin America) University is Free!

Here they got into a war, they let companies rob the country blind and to top it off they are playing with their luck conserning us immigrants.

My friends are leaving the country and have left some already, going back to Latin America and I'm considering it too.

The war in the middle east is not easing and China already surpassed the sates in global stand so USA has become less os a comodity and more of a chaos to many of us.

too bad that I love this country and have been here for so long, but people in power keep playing the wrong cards and I fear the worse.

I should have schooling already and be in my way to be a part of the UN or in the US government but they hold me undocumented without a voice when I am very smart and fair.

This looks more like slavery than a country of opportunity. "send me the poor" yea right so they eat, consume and die in wars? come on! for that I would rather take my chances in a country in South America that I know nothing about but at least is not trying to invade others and risking attacks on innocent people.

I would rather let Dobbs keep preaching his racism and let him keep insulting people see how long he lasts.

It's going to be one or the other. I think in-state stands a better chance.

People who want to succeed deserve a cheaper tutition, and then return more give-in back to the society.

People who want to college because they see it as an gateway to better rank do not deserve any college education. Watch this. You have to be passionate about what you learn - not because you have to go there and get a degree. A degree today only means you are qualify to get a better paid job. I hate to say that. So people who go to class and complain how difficult college is should really re-think about their standings. College is a gateway to think independently.

Modern education does not make students to think as a thinker. We are taught to memorize equations and general aspects of the materials, then be expected to have exam questions related to classwork or homework questions without little or even no thinking process. All you do is to know the basic concept, apply that forumla, and then submit your answers.

I see a trend. I am afraid of difficult professors too, because I am not trained to follow that kind of "task". But ever since I entered college, I found a thirst to build my knowledge bank.

man u are the voice of reason. I have seen so many doctor cops and teachers who could give less then a crap about how noble their jobs ought to be and are there for the benefits and money.. it is ridiculous. Thank theres people like you my man.

They will pass immigration reform most likely because the war between Jewish and Palestine is heating up and the pigs want support so here come the documents.

But I will study to solve issues using fair diplomacy not rockets and sanctions that hurt the regular people who could care less about the interest of the fewer.

Either we get blown up to pieces by the ridiculous religious extremist fighting over Jerusalem, (all sides) or we make it to achieve global piece in one piece. :)
