"UW alumnus Alonso Chehade, a Peruvian national, has been fighting deportation since last year. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano indefinitely delayed his deportation pending a new review last Friday, but Chehade and others have been gathering support for the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, legislation that would give undocumented immigrants like Chehade a path to citizenship."
