Report: E-Verify misses half of illegal workers
WASHINGTON (AP) - The system Congress and the Obama administration want employers to use to help curb illegal immigration is failing to catch more than half the number of unauthorized workers it checks, a research company has found.
E-Verify missed so many illegal workers mainly because it can't detect identity fraud, Westat said. "Clearly it means it's not doing its No. 1 job well enough," said Mark Rosenblum, a researcher at the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan Washington think tank. ***IMMIGRATION REFORM IS THE SOLUTION***** Read full report here: http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12041536 |

Re: Report: E-Verify misses half of illegal workers
If feds knew the total number of illegals to be able to calculate the error percentage, why bother with anything else such as e-verify? Just deport them all.

Re: Report: E-Verify misses half of illegal workers
I think most of the Identity theft cases reported in this country, come from illigal immigrants working in this country. Some use fake SSN and by guessing, they end up working with a Good SSN belonging to another person, once the employer reports earnings under that SSN, that's when SS Admin. flags that SSN as an Identity theft, because there were 2 earnings report. And so, That becomes a case.
Again...**IMMIGRATION REFORM IS THE SOLUTION** TO all this problems. Why they don't want to understand that. |
