The comments made by the president on the Air Force one didn't help this situation at all. Someone needs to talk some sense into Obama.

"Securing" the border would be the only way to shut up republicans. he should just do it.

Securing the border without assurance is the worst fucking idea. You are seriously trusting the word of the republicans ?

Go back a few months.. Republicans made a few demands *hint* (drop public option) amongst many others. Democrats TOOK republican ideas in the main bill by severely watering it down. Did they vote for it ? Hell no !

You send the national guard to the border, they will still not vote for CIR. Once you send the National guard, you cant even pull it back because that looks extremely fucked up in the eyes of the moderates. Why ?! caues what is Obama going to tell the public ?! " Hey guys.. I guess securing the border is possible after all.. but Hey.. umm republicans didnt vote to legalise all these illegals so ill just withraw the national guard and do fuck up something I should have been doing in the first place " ?!

So basically republicans will once again get want they want and democrats will be left red faced.

Accepting CIR the way it is is perfect. It adressess the border issue and to gain something you gotta give something. Nothing is Free.
