I know, I was confused too. But then I read the article and it seems to focus on immigration, so it might actually be a typo.

This could be really good, really bad, or just the same. He could say a reform will happen this year; on the other hand, he could say they're enacting Arizona's law at a federal level (or something crazy like that); OR he could say that they're 'working hard' on a 'possible solution'.

I really have no idea....

This is just a political speech. He'll just try to make a point that he wants the bill this year to make hispanics happy for the upcoming elections, showing tht he is doing his best to get it done and make republicans as the culprits. And we all know that even the bill is not even written and forget about bringing it to the floor. Another showtime n POLITICS, in my view. Let see if anything different comes by, which is very doubtful. He'll blame d congress not acting on it and need their support to fulfil his commitment. But wht about his commitment in 100 days, which he promised......

More of the same: Immigration reform will have to wait; election plot to enlist people to help the Dems keep the latino vote (as if). Scaremongering that if the Repubs will be worse in a majority. All records indicate otherwise: When they were in the maj. CIR had a bigger chance, and had the Democrats been united in its support, it would have passed.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2...ration-reform/

"Although White House officials do not said it explicitly, Democratic lawmakers acknowledge that the immigration overhaul will not happen before the mid-term elections in November. Now, the White House is seeking to hold on to Latino voters–who turned out for Mr. Obama in record numbers in 2008–despite their frustration with the inaction on the legislation, which would give legal status to millions of illegal immigrants."
"In marches and rallies this year, immigrant groups have blamed Mr. Obama for falling short on the overhaul. But some advocates left the meeting saying they would shift their message." (To Republicans)

lol, I have a feeling it will go something like this

"My fellow Americans, the Arizona law is unjust and thats why we are suing them. Moreover, I call for all my friends in congress to start working on immigration reform."
